A Furminator is a blade. I have attached a picture of a super short grooming blade next to the Furminator blade for comparison. The only reason you think it works so well and you pull out so much hair is because it's actually cutting your dog's hair. It cuts off good hair, the top layer, and leaves lasting damage that you may not notice at first or ever, but it’s definitely causing damage and your pup’s fur will start to get shorter and thinner.

I have never and will use a Furminator on my clients dogs and I do not recommend it at all.
