We are looking 1 preferrably full time hard working bathing assistants for a fast, busy grooming salon.
Duties include bathing and drying, cleaning ears, some brushing, folding laundry, sweeping up hair, and cleaning up messes.
Would like to also cross train to be able to check in and out clients when needed.
Must have consistant availability and be available at least two Saturdays a month. We are currently closed on Sundays and Tuesday afternoons.
Bathing experience not necessary, but MUST be dog savvy. Must also be diligent and thorough with their work.

Ideal schedule would be as follows
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday 8:30am-5pm OR 10am-4:30pm
Availability on Tuesday mornings for occasional shifts preferred, could also be part of regular schedule.

We unfortunately are not taking new clients, and are needing to limit our customer base to those who have been groomed by us within the last 3 months. We are completely booked for the next 3 months for baths and haircuts, and are requiring prebooking your next appointment for 3 months or less at pick up.
We are able to provide nail, face, feet, and/sanitary trims for any dog new or existing canine client with proof of rabies usually within a couple days.
We are putting a hold on adding to our wait list since we have not been able to add anyone from it onto our schedule yet.
There is a late fee of $1 a minute after 5 minutes late for drop off for bath and haircut appointments. This fee is reduced to $0.50 a minute if you call before your appointment time. Pick up is flexible. We also require at least 3 hours cancellation notice, during business hours. If not enough notice is given, there is a fee of 25% of the price of grooming.

We will be closed the following dates:
Saturday June 19th
Thursday June 24th through Saturday June 26th
Friday August 13th through Monday August 16th
Saturday September 11th
Saturday October 9th
Thursday & Friday November 25th & 26th
Saturday December 25th
Saturday January 1st
Saturday January 22nd

We will also only be open for half days in the morning on the follow dates
All Tuesdays
Saturday November 13th
Saturday November 27th
Friday December 24th ($10 extra fee for this day)

Thank you for being patient and understanding while everything has gotten so crazy.
We are currently booking out 9-10 weeks for current clients 🤯
Because of this, we have decided to put a hold on accepting new clients for baths or haircuts. We are starting a new client wait list to be contacted if we start booking out less than 8 weeks again. Please email us at [email protected] to be added to this list.
For new and current clients, we can still offer nail trims and face, feet and sanitary trims within a couple days. I prefer to do the whole package or multiple dogs at the end of the day once all grooming appointments are complete. Just nails are easier to fit in earlier.
Last month, owner and sole groomer Nicole Beckman entered Mastergroom Canada an online grooming competition and won first place in the creative grooming category!

Thank you to all of our existing customers. Please plan on prebooking any grooming appointments you may want within the next 16 weeks or so when your dog comes in for grooming.
We are able to provide quick in and out services such as nail trims, face trims, feet and sanitary trimming. These are done by appointment, sometimes as soon as same day.
We are currently booking out about 8 weeks for all grooming appointments (baths, haircuts), and are still currently accepting new clients starting at about 9 weeks out.

We are currently booking out about 6 weeks for bath and/or haircut appointments. We reccomend prebooking at least 8-9 weeks for future appointments to ensure your spot.
We are accepting new clients starting one week after our first available appointment.
We are still able to provide nail, face, feet, and/or sani trims within a couple days, sometimes same day.

Due to how crazy our schedule has become, we are starting to enact a fee for those who are more than 5 minutes late to their appointment of $1 per minute. If you call before the time of your appointment, this fee will be cut in half
($.50 a minute). Early drop offs are accepted starting at 7:25am. Please call ahead if it will be more than 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. We may be able to start a little earlier, but cannot guarantee a sooner appointment start time.
Please plan on arriving 5 minutes early and letting your dog potty in our side yard before coming or calling for curbside pick up

We have also updated our cancellation policy. We require at least 3 hours notice, during business hours for all bath or haircut appointments. This means appointments 10am or earlier must notify us by the day before. If not notified, the cancellation fee is 25% of the expected grooming fee.

The holidays are a crazy time!
We are currently booking out until just about January for regular appointments.
Because of this, I have just opened up time on Sunday December 20th, and after that is filled, Christmas Eve. These days will have a special rate of 1.5x the normal rate, since they days that we would normally not be open. They are only available to current customers.
In order to better serve our existing customers, we will only be booking new customers one week out past our first available regular appointment until things slow down.

The holidays are just about here, and we are getting close and we have a limited number of available appointments before Christmas.
We are currently booking out about a month. To better serve our existing customers, we are not taking any new clients until January 2021.
As usual, we can still do nail, feet, face and/or f***y trims for existing and new customers. This is especially good for any new puppies who need an introduction to grooming!

Cold weather is coming, and with it comes the holidays!
We are still booking out 2-3 weeks with very limited availability on Saturdays.
This is year will be especially important to book sooner than later if you need to have your dog groomed right before the holidays.
It is always a good idea to prebook your next appointment at pick up to make sure we have the day and time you prefer.

In the beginning of September, myself, owner Nicole Beckman, submitted grooming photos to an online grooming competition called WPA365. The awards came out today.
I used my two poodles Ira and Sprocket and won first place is abstract grooming, and received an honorable mention in poodle trims.

We are down to booking out around 2-3 weeks.
Saturdays are booking up fast, and certain days throughout the next month are nearly full.
So if you are looking to book an appointment soon, sooner is better to get the day and time you prefer!
And it is always a good idea to book your next appointment at pick up or shortly after.

Update: We are booking out 2.5 to 3 weeks at the moment. We may be starting to catch up a bit, but can't guarantee anything!

Why not add some color to your life? Please let me know BEFORE your appointment if you want it, so we can plan and schedule accordingly.

Chalk is a temporary color that fades quickly and washes out completely, or almost completely with a bath. It CAN sometimes rub off on furniture and carpets, especially if wet.

Semi-permanent pet safe dye is a more permanent way to add color to your pet. It will fade over time, but most likely will need to be cut off to come off completely. On short haired breeds it will fade over time as they hair sheds out. Areas such as the end of the tail, ears and feet and great areas to dye, as they will most likely be cut off at your next grooming. They also come in contact with water/dirt the most and will fade more quickly
Dyeing the top of the head, full ears or tail will stay in for a long time, as these areas are generally left long.

All dogs pictures had semi permanent dye used.

I hope everyone had a happy fourth! We sure did!
We are booking out slightly less than before, at about 3.5 weeks, however Saturdays are now booked til mid August.
We have officially opened our lobby area for those wearing masks! We are only allowing one person/family in at a time, and prefer any unnecessary family members to stay outside.
All leashes, collars, harnesses and flea collars will be left with you.
Please try to stay within the taped area and only use the small table for your belongings or to write checks, etc.
I now have my credit card chip reader set up so cards can be inserted by you, and nothing needs to be touched. I am trying to keep surfaces that are being touched as close to ZERO as possible, or we will need to shut down the lobby again.
We are still offering curbside pick-up and drop-off to anyone who calls from outside from here on out.
If you forget your mask, please call from outside OR open and close the door quickly from outside to set off our door bell and we will come out to you.

We are still booking out about 4 weeks or a day under for baths and/or haircuts, so we appreciate your patience and loyalty.
We are definitely still able to take nail trims and quick face/f***y trims. Mostly between 4 and 5:30pm, but some appointments may be available during during the day depending on how crazy things are.

We are sorry if we are not able to accommodate your pup as soon as you'd like, however we have been crazy busy and are trying to groom as many dogs as possible while keeping our sanity!

We are able to do nail trims and trim around the eyes/sanitary as a quick 5-10 minute appointment. Barkley was very happy he was about to get a haircut the other day!

Thank you everyone for your continued support and patience.
I have been trying my hardest to get through our wait-list as quickly as possible, and hope to finish before the end of the week, depending on how many calls continue to come in.
We have so far been able to schedule everyone in sooner than expected, and hope this continues. We expect to get even those who have called in the last couple days in before the end of June.

We are able to start taking appointments, however we are currently only taking in cancelled and previously scheduled appointments.

We will be able to start accepting regular grooming appointments starting during phase TWO, which should be Friday or Saturday 29th or 30th, depending on the state of the region.

We are still currently only able to grooming appointments with a note from your vet saying grooming in medically necessary.
We are crossing our fingers that our region will be able to open after May 15th. I have just read that select retail stores offering curbside pickup will be able to open with phase one of reopening, which may or may not include us.
If not, then we will be able to open regular grooming during phase two, which SHOULD be approximately 14 days after phase one.

When is grooming your dog medically necessary?

While regular grooming is essential for many dogs, it can wait for many during this pandemic to ensure everyone's safety.
However, if your dog has skin issues, matting, ear or eye problems, overgrown nails, or is developing matting and tangles, it might be necessary.
If any of these issues are happening to your dog right now or develop, please contact your vet. If they are not able to give an adequate solution without the help of grooming, please have them email me at [email protected] with a referral saying that grooming is medically necessary and we can schedule an appointment.

We have gotten word from both the Tompkins County Health Department and the New York State Empire State Development that we need to close again.
The wording in the PAUSE ordinance was vague, which was why we're given the go ahead by Tompkins County. Now it has been clarified.

All appointments are cancelled until the ordinance is lifted, which has now been extended again until May 15th.

We have been cleared by the Tompkins County Health Department to be open!
Please call when you arrive for your appointment and we will come out and get your dog directly from the car.

There is nothing specifically stating dog grooming in the NY PAUSE order, so we hope this remains true.
We are opening on Wednesday April 15th as we originally were hoping for. Since we were closed for over a week, we will be still be taking names for a wait list to ensure that all cancelled appointments and those already on the wait list can be scheduled first.

Since the New York PAUSE order has been extended through April 29th, we are planning to open Thursday April 30th.
Because of how long this closure will most likely be, I have decided to start a wait list for appointments.
I will start calling everyone from this list a couple days before we reopen, in the order that that the calls and emails are received.
This will start with those who had appointments that needed to be cancelled

The non essential business closures have been extended through April 29th.
This means we will be planning to reopen on Thursday April 30th now.

Unfortunately we are now closed.

The original non essential business closures had an exemption for businesses with one employee, which has since been removed.

I have applied for an exemption, and we will see what happens.
Either way, we will be opening April 16th or whenever the non essential business closures is lifted, if not hopefully sooner.
