URGENT 🚨 We are holding an emergency fundraiser for our neighbor Lee Scott who is facing homelessness after the city boarded up his house this week until he is able to get it into compliance. Lee has been opening his home up to others for years but with many people using the facilities there has been a lot of extra wear and tear on the property. This has resulted in damage and compliance issues that Lee cannot afford to fix on his own. IF HE DOES NOT MAKE THE REPAIRS BY APRIL 5th, THE CITY WILL BE CHARGING N ADDITIONAL $500/DAY.

As housing prices RISE and social service programs dwindle, the number of people without a place to live will only continue to GROW. This affects ALL OF US. The city’s inaction in dealing with this crises has forced many housed community members, like Lee, who can’t in good conscience watch people suffer unsheltered, to open their homes. Rather than providing support to the very people who are helping manage the fallout from the city’s own failures, the city is hitting HIM with crippling fines AND THEN PUTTING HIM OUT ON THE STREET WHEN HE IS UNABLE TO PAY.

If you can, PLEASE donate to help Lee save his home or share this with someone you think can. Then continue to be active in the fight for affordable housing and to build a better, more just society for everyone so that this cycle does not continue to repeat itself again and again.

Trash Removal-$800
Electric, Water, and Sewer Bills-$3,699,
City Fines-$1,500,
Emergency temporary housing-$500,
Total: $6,500

We have set up a Go Fund Me page for Lee however the site takes a large percentage of funds raised and can take a long time to actually transfer the funds over. We don’t have time to waste so we are asking that people donate directly to us by VENMO, CASHAPP, CASH or CHECK.

We are having an end of the season harvest party on Saturday November 2nd from 1:30 pm to 5 pm!
We will be making two big pots of soup with some of the veggies we grew this season and we’ll have fun activities for all ages—making scarecrows, s’mores, planting garlic and face painting! There will be a produce stand for you to stock your fridge with.

We’ll also be hosting a supply drive for unhoused community members preparing for cold weather. Please check out this wish list, gather up some items and come out to the harvest party where we will be collecting all donations. If you have items that you think would be useful that aren’t on this list feel free to message us. Thank you!

Many congratulations to our friend Jose who is opening a brick and mortar location of his Peruvian restaurant Tantay in the very near future! We have been growing these Aji Amarillo (Peruvian Chile) peppers for Jose over the last several years. The peppers take about 5 months to reach maturity in our climate and have been a fun challenge to grow!

We’re raising money for our friend Kristin and her kids. They were just evicted from their house after their land lord jacked up the rent and they have nowhere to go. They’ve been following all the housing leads they can find but they haven’t had any luck finding a place yet. One of their kids is autistic and not able to handle the environment in the shelter so they are out of good options. We want to raise money for them to be able to get a motel for a month so that they have more time to figure out their next move. We shouldn't have to live in a world where moms
and kids get pushed out on the street with no where to go but that's where are at as a society right now. Please if you have some extra money, let’s pitch in and help this family out ❤️‍🩹
