White Bison Farm Home to Quality, Unique, and Well-Loved Animals! We at White Bison Farm strive to not only have unique animals, but also Quality animals.

Quality is Essential and we are proud to raise the best in Idaho Pasture Pigs, American Bison, and Gypsy Vanner Horses! We are not concerned with the quantity, but with quality! Our bison are raised organically. Meaning they are grass-fed, eat only organic hay, get free choice minerals, and are free roaming within acres of pasture. We have a small number of Gypsy Vanner Horses with some of the bes

t bloodlines available, great conformation, and impeccable coloring. Each foal is imprinted at birth, worked with daily, and is well on their way to being good solid members of the horse world by the time they are weaned. We believe that a good horse should have a understanding of many basic ground exercises by the time they are a few months old and therefore we work with them on a continual basis. All of our horses are nearly "bomb-proof" by the time they are only a few weeks old, due to our constant introduction of lifes "scary" things.

We had a gilt named Winter who decided she wanted to do her own thing this fall and broke in with Gary one day when the power was out due to a storm! 117 days later on December 26, her first litter arrived! We don’t like to have piglets this time of year, but considering her name is Winter, I guess it is appropriate!!

There's Always ONE! In this case - one pasture of Idaho Pasture Pigs (which is actually three pigs).

We put the round bales out into the larger pastures this week and 9 of the 10 pastures did fantastic! And then there was one group who spent a full day ripping the bale apart, moving their entire house, tipping the bale, unrolling the bale, and basically destroying the entire set up. Needless to say, I moved the rest of the bale out of the pasture, and they can have it later this winter, but for now, they have a lot of cleaning to do LOL!

The second picture shows how the rest of the bales look and how the pigs normally eat a round bale.

And the snow is finally arriving! Happy Winter one day early :)

White Bison Farm, located in Laona, WI, supplied bison and pork through the WI LFPA program in 2024. Dave and Jodi Cronauer have owned the farm since 2014. “The WI LFPA is a quality program,” Jodi said. “It’s quality meat going to a quality program, helping people in Wisconsin. It’s everything that I would prefer to be doing as a farmer. I really enjoy this program because WI LFPA understands farming. They understand the what, why, and how of what we’re doing.”

These piglets are less than 24 hours old and not only are they outside checking out their new home, but their mom is perfectly content with us visiting with them.

The ease of moving Idaho Pasture Pigs with an alleyway! I opened one gate and they walked up to Dave at the next gate!
