We want to wish all our clients in full show mode from the local to the national level "GOOD LUCK"!! We have had some World Champions already this year as clients and hope everyone has a successful show season.
A few reminders this time of year. We are scheduled pretty tight but if you have a lost shoe please call us ASAP. Dry weather opens up the hoof nail holes so keep the hoof product on there to help keep moisture in. Stomping flies and dry hooves leads to lost shoes.
Thank you to all of you that schedule ahead on your appointments. You are very much appreciated!! Send us your client show pic and we can share on our page!

What can you do as a good owner for your Farrier appointment?
1. Have a safe area to work in. NOT between pieces of equipment and preferrably not the stall. There needs to be ample room for escape should the horse act up
2. Good Lighting sure helps!
3. A clean(ish) area and a dry hoof. Can't help some rain days but if you wouldn't wrap your hand around that hoof soaked with waste, your farrier shouldn't have to either.
4. In the heat, a shadey spot sure helps. They bring a fan so no need unless you are ready with one.
5. Flyspray is sure appreciated!!
6. Horses in and a their halter handy on the stall
7. And a smile. Days are long right now and that stop before yours just added a few more as did the stop before that. You are important to us and we will do our best to do a good job but we do run late or have to reschedule sometimes.

Our Story

May 8, 2018 forever changed our world. With the loss of Al, we have tried to fill all our clients needs with now 2 sets of skilled hands, not three. Thank you to all the clients that have stood by us this summer. You will never know how much you have meant to us. Mike is now the head of Ames Horseshoeing. Brandon has stepped in and filled some very special shoes and is a very talented farrier. No worries folks. Your horses are in the care of two very talented farriers. From the backyard horse to your high end show horses and correcting lameness along side your vet, Mike and Brandon are making Al very proud as he looks over them everyday.
