HydroFido LaPorte Indiana Dog Park

We need help deep cleaning the shelter. We will be there this weekend- Saturday, 9am to 5pm and Sunday, 1pm to 5 pm. If you can come help even for an hour it would be greatly appreciated.
To volunteer for this you must be 18 or older, wear closed toe shoes or workboots, wear long pants, and have your hair pulled back.
Long sleeves are suggested.
If you wish to wear protective eyewear, face makes, or cleaning gloves please bring them with you. Snacks and drinks will be provided. For those staying all day, lunch will be provided.
If you are able to help, even for a short time and/or even with light duty cleaning please message the shelter attention to Andie.

Many thanks to Rosenbaum Nursery for helping grade and install river rock around the new splash pad surface and to Pavey Excavating for the donation of river rock for park landscaping and limestone for a drainage area fix being completed by Signature Lawns, LLC. These are locally owned family businesses helping improve our community!

Volunteer Day 2 at HydroFido LaPorte Indiana Dog Park… Friday 9/6

We could use some folks with basic construction skills in the morning 7-11am and afternoon 1-4pm for a start of some landscape work.

Come see all the incredible work completed by H&G Underground Utilities on the splash pad! Thanks to Smith Ready Mix Inc for the concrete and Stephani Electric for getting this pad powered up!

Next week work days include staining concrete of splash pad, landscape work, general clean up. Hours 7-11 and 1-5pm.

Friday, 9/13: Meet & Greet and light refreshments from 1-4pm with the new Shelter Director Emilie Levesque!

Baby Jessica went out to meet the crew from H&G Underground, and check out the progress on the K9 splash pad! We didn’t let her near the hole! Baby Jessica has a potential adopter, but so many other great pets are waiting for a forever home at the LaPorte County Animal Control & The Jane Bernard Animal Adoption Center. Come help at one of the volunteer days in the next two weeks and maybe meet your next best friend in a dog or cat that’s waiting here for you!

So thankful for H&G Underground Utilities for taking on the leadership of getting the HydroFido K9 Splash Park built (with donated time and materials too)! Doug Stephani Electric has been helping power things up and Smith Ready Mix is donating concrete! Local Skilled Heroes helping us build bigger and better things by donating time, talent, and materials!

Morning and Afternoon Shifts

Help landscape (animal lovers from Rosenbaum Nursery will be leading that area to help out), spread mulch and rock, trim bushes, help paint… the splash surface, old wood benches, stain the gazebo, set signs, new benches and new trash receptacles…

Most of you know that Carey Garwood has been the driving force behind the fundraising and construction of the HydroFido Splash Park at the shelter. She has been doing so in the memory of her brother Chris Miller.
Yesterday construction started on the park. It will take time, but things are underway. We would like to think this is a sign of approval.
We were sent this picture today by a follower, Yolanda Davis, who said her husband snapped it this morning.
