One thing I love about this horse is that he only gets better with time! Don't let Charlie's age fool you, he is wise beyond his years!

And although he loves a good leisurely trail ride, he has the athleticism to get a job done or even compete! He really is a blank canvas that can go in any direction. Mounted shooting? Cowboy Polo? Gymkhanas? Team Roping? Team Penning? Ranch Horse? This horse could do it. He is willing, sound, and sane... what more could you ask for?

This horse has all the basics plus some! He can fly lead changes, sit down on his hind end, and while he may not be cut out to be a pro cutter... he's got enough quick moves to make him handy sorting cows.

Charlie loves the ranch, chasing down yearlings, dragging calves, and exploring new territory. He's no stranger to wildlife either. This horse crosses water, loads like a dream, and is as solid-minded as they come.

I stand behind my horses and will always be available to the new owner for any questions, tune-ups, lessons, and more!

To tell you this is the coolest gelding I have owned would be an understatement!

His disposition is what every horse owner dreams of. He rarely questions anything new, but when he does, he takes care of his rider regardless. He has been to the branding pen, started in the headbox, crosses water, loads with ease, moved cows through the mountains of Wyoming, explored the desert trails of Arizona, has been exposed to gunfire, and could care less about all of it.

He likes a nice easy ride but has the speed and get-up-and-go when asked. He loves having a job and to be the center of attention, which has made him a terrific model for my photography business. He's been featured on multiple brands' socials including Outback Trading Co. and Pendleton Whisky. He's got quite the number of fans and he is sure to make more.

Charlie is already a superstar but he has so much more potential and is still young enough to be taken in any direction. This guy is a ranch horse deluxe, beginner-friendly trail mount, flag/parade ready, mounted shooting prospect, cowboy polo prospect, etc...you name it, this horse is ready for his new career as your next favorite horse.

Lil Shining Wrench "Biff"
13yo AQHA gelding | approx. 16h

No... that's a normal size saddle, this big dude just makes it look small.

"Biff" is a home-grown gelding who is an absolute sweetheart. He is a "been there, done that" type horse but does require consistent riding or coaching with a trainer, to be fully considered "beginner-friendly". This horse would be perfect for a more confident novice rider, or a 4-H kid who is looking for that next "step-up" show horse. "Biff" is light in the mouth, neck reins, will fly lead changes, naturally carries head low, will do trail obstacles, and so much more. He loads & clips.

"Biff" does have experience showing in open shows around AZ, but hasn’t been shown in a few years due to the owner's busy schedule. Once this guy fully sheds out and is cleaned up, he will be a flashy boy again.

His pitfalls - he does not hard tie and he will need to be legged up to be fully competition ready.

To put things into perspective, I got asked if I had a horse for Miss Rodeo Wyoming to borrow for Laramie Jubilee Days in July of 2021 and I knew I had one who just fit the job. While he may not have years of experience, his personality and disposition made him wise beyond his years. So despite being only 3-years-old and having just over 100 rides at the time, this guy was carrying flags with a state rodeo queen at three consecutive PRCA rodeos with no issues. In fact, he loved every moment of it.

This 4yo is the real deal. Not only can you take Charlie out to get a job done, he’s suited for beginner riders too. Watch how loose those reins are and how just the turn of this sweet girl’s head was enough for this horse. You rarely find horses this young with this kind of natural disposition.

Sonora and Her Diving Horse. Calgary Stampede 1925 - The horse dived about 50 feet into a tank of water about 10 feet deep and Miss Carver stayed on the horse during all of the jump. She lost her eyesight in 1931 when her horse landed badly, but by 1932 was again diving horses. She retired in 1942 and died in 2003 at the age of 99.

Charlie has so much potential and could be taken in so many directions. Ranch horse deluxe, kid-friendly, mounted shooting prospect, head horse, you name it, this horse is ready for his big-kid job.

So what are his quirks? He's a bit of an a$$ in the pasture, but nothing you have to worry about. He's still young and on a really cold day, he may have a little more fire than normal, but you'll know you’re still in good hands. Horses are animals with minds of their own, so to say he will never do anything goofy might be too optimistic, but he's as honest as they come.

We knew legendary stallion Woody Be Tuff (LTE $351k+) would be a highlight of the Western Bloodstock LTD. Center Ranch Dispersal Sale, and that he was! The 2001 stallion (Nitas Wood x Tuffs Junie) just sold for $1,300,000 to Ty Smith!

Another reason why you should put time into training your horses how to properly carry their bodies so that you don’t need a tie down…

Do you ride your horse in a tie down?

The next time you choose your equipment, remember this picture.
The next time you have to choose a "harsher" noseband because your horse is "running through" your current choice, remember this picture.

Consider the fact that you may be causing nerve damage.
Consider the fact that maybe your horse can't even feel their face anymore.

These are the images of a quarter horse ridden in a tie down with a wire noseband in their futurity year of barrel racing.
This horse is now 15.

Correct infrared imaging of the horse tells us more than just a story of anatomy, more than just a story of physiology.

Mares aren’t always well liked and for the same reasons strong women aren’t.

Opinionated? Those opinions are not without good cause and maybe you can't figure them out or maybe you just don’t like her opinion of you. Change it and she will always be on your side.

Stubborn? She just won’t let you bulldoze her. Treat her with respect and her resilience will be an asset to you.

Difficult? You just can’t handle her. You don’t have what it takes.

Stick with geldings then, and leave the mare for someone who understands her and appreciates the same qualities society has subtlety taught you not to like.

Here’s to mares, to strong women, and to those who CAN and DO appreciate them!
