About Kenzie
Hey there!
My name is Mackenzie Holmberg, but most people just call me Kenzie and you can too. I am the owner and trainer behind the Knockout brand. I’ve been riding horses since I was little, with humble beginnings starting in my local 4-H and Pony Club in Steamboat Springs, CO. After finding my passion for horses, I wanted to learn more, and so in middle school I began riding with a local reinded cowhorse trainer, Jason Patrick. I worked my way up from a third-party observer to a ranch hand, and eventually Assistant Trainer, all while still in high school. I showed in the youth AQHA, ASHA, COWN and NRCHA and had quite the run!
After high school, I worked for Jason on my winter/summer breaks for a few years while attending the University of Wyoming. While pursuing my degree in Agricultural Communications, I also competed and coached the UW Ranch Horse Team. I also utilized my ability to train, to help pay for schooling. After graduating in 2018, I traveled from Wyoming to Texas, back to Colorado, and then up to Montana, before settling back in the great state of Wyoming.
All the while, I also manage my own graphic design, marketing & photography business, KNZ Design & Marketing, and producing the Endorsed podcast. Showing horses took a back burner after college, but training and selling have continued. I love the process of finishing a horse so that when I am done, they’re safe, reliable, and ready for a new home! I pride myself on the quality and versatility of the horses I produce, and I guarantee that they are exactly what I say they are. Knockout Horses is more than a catchy name, I want my customers to know that they are buying some of the best, well-minded and well-trained horses that you can find.
