I know I said I planned to deactivate this page, but I just realized that I organized all my rabbit feeds under this account. Since the youth has another four years of showing rabbits, even if it’s only a couple times a year (possibly only at fair), I’ll keep this page up but post tidbits to the group. I like to keep my FB news feeds for rabbits separated from my personal account.

And who know, after four years, I may decide to take the project over and show myself. For now, we’ll keep our numbers low. I’ll be attending the Henderson, Colorado show on September 23rd with sale rabbits and loaners for the youth Breed ID contests. Cooper isn’t sure he wants to attend, so rabbit entries are iffy.

It had to happen eventually. The youngest kid is not as excited to attend rabbit shows anymore. He still wants to be involved with 4H, but not as interested in going to all-day shows. As of now, we are going to start downsizing our herd and limit our breedings to coincide with county/state fair shows. I will eventually remove this page along with our website but keep the 4H rabbit group going until we’re done with 4H. I’ll post the group link in the comments of this post if you want to join up.

Gibby’s Hagrid placed best of variety in both shows today at the Wyoming State Convention/HTRC show. It was a small class, so his Best of Breed placement in one of the shows was a great surprise.

Edit: This guy went home with a youth exhibitor.

This 3 month old buck is hopefully joining Cooper’s up and coming show string. Gibby’s Huckle Berry.

The child enjoyed his first State Fair. He was awarded Best Of Breed for the junior show with his buck, Gibby’s Fred. And Best Of Breed in the Open ARBA show judged by Allan Ormond with his buck, Gibby’s Hagrid. Hagrid is the son of Fred—definitely some good breeding. Really loved all the beautiful rabbits at both shows.

Show reports arrived from the Laramie ARBA show and Cooper earned Best Breed Display in Open A, and tied for Best Breed Display in Open B. Definitely a good display of quality rabbits.

Super excited to continue work with Cooper and his rabbits alongside some wonderful mentors in Holland Lops who have and continue to help him along the way.
