ππΎ Keep Your Pets Cool in the Heat! πΎπ
As temperatures rise, it's crucial to ensure our furry friends stay safe and comfortable. Here's how to spot the signs of heat stroke and what to do if your pet is affected:
Signs of Heat Stroke:
πΈ Excessive panting or difficulty breathing
πΈ Drooling more than usual
πΈ Lethargy or weakness
πΈ Increased heart rate
πΈ Vomiting or diarrhea
πΈ Confusion or disorientation
What to Do:
1. Move to a Cool Area: Get your pet to a shaded or air-conditioned place.
2. Hydrate: Offer small amounts of cool (not cold) water. Do not force it.
3. Cool Down: Apply cool, wet towels to their body, especially around the head, neck, and chest. Do NOT use ice. This will constrict the blood vessels, making it harder to cool down.
4. Visit the Vet: Heat stroke is a medical emergency. Contact your vet immediately.
Remember, prevention is key! Avoid midday walks, provide plenty of fresh water, and never leave pets in a parked car.
Stay cool and keep those tails wagging! πΆπ±π¦
