Bonded brothers Benny and Ham seek a forever home together!

Benny "The Jet" is a fun-filled guy with a big personality! He loves prancing around with his feather string toy, rolling over for belly rubs, and running around with his brother and friends. At night, he’ll curl up next to you and insist on being the middle of the bed sandwich if there are two of you. He might snore a little and unroll the toilet paper (oops!), but his sweetness will make you forgive him every time.

Ham is a dashing fella who may be a bit shy at first, but once you give him some love, he’ll melt right into you. His motor will start purring, and you’ll hear his adorable voice calling for his brother Benny. These two are extremely bonded and would love to be adopted together. Together, they’ll bring so much joy to your home!
Born around 9/14/2024, these two young, neutered boys get along well with other dogs and cats, and they’re ready to bring all their sweetness to their new family.

Could that be you?

Update- sweet Captain found the most amazing forever home!! Happy life sweet boy 💕

Hello, my name is Captain and I’m a sweet boy with something a little extra—those extra toes! I was rescued from the airport, and I’m already loving indoor life. I enjoy standing close by and watching whatever you’re up to, or hanging out at the foot of the bed at night. And if you get close enough, you’ll hear my purr motor going strong as I enjoy being near you.

I’m great at giving rubs and tail bumps, and with a little time, I’ll continue to blossom into a loving companion. I also LOVE running around and playing, so I’d do best in a home with other friends to share the fun.

Born around 6/30/2024 and a proud polydactyl (just look at those toes!), I’m ready to find my forever home. Could it be with you?

Well… this is awkward

Not a single ex got neutered. Not one. Are y’all telling us that every single one of your exes was actually worth keeping in the dating gene pool?!? We’re skeptical.

But hey, maybe you’re just too nice, or maybe you just forgot! So, here’s your second chance:

Drop a GIF in the comments that best represents your ex. No names needed—we’ll know. Or, if you want to be the bigger person (boring, but respectable), donate in honor of a pet or loved one instead. Either way, our cats will thank you.

Tagging y’all because we know you have stories. Don’t leave us hanging!

NEUTER/SPAY YOUR EX: A Valentine’s Day Fundraiser for LAWS!

Have an ex that shouldn’t reproduce? Feeling a little vengeful this Valentine’s Day? For a $25 donation, we’ll name a cat after your ex, spay or neuter them, and release them through our TNR program to stop the breeding cycle.

Give your ex a proper sendoff, heal your heart, and help control the community cat population all at the same time! It’s a win-win!

To “neuter/spay” your ex, just visit Laramie-animals.org between now and February 28th, make your donation, then email us at [email protected] with your ex’s name (first names or nicknames only). Your donation helps fund our spay/neuter program and supports the care of animals in our program.

Happily in love? You can still make a difference! If you’ve found the love of your life but still want to support this cause, we would be forever grateful for your donation. You can contribute in honor of your partner, a beloved pet, or someone special to celebrate love in all its forms.

Your donation makes a real difference in the lives of cats in need!

🐾 Meet Kingston – Your Future Best Friend! 🐾

Kingston has all the makings of a stellar companion! This curious little guy always wants to know what you’re up to and what you’re snackin’ on—any excuse to get close to his favorite humans. He’ll keep you on your toes (literally—he loves nibbling them!) and is always on the hunt for anything that wiggles or shimmies.

At our adoption center, Kingston has earned the title of “resident tussler”—he loves to wrestle with his friends and keep everyone entertained. But when playtime is over, this little purr-machine is happiest soaking up full-body pets and forehead scratches.

✨ Lucky #25! ✨
Kingston has been with LAWS for over a year and qualifies for $25 off his adoption fee until the end of February 2025!

Originally joining our program in July 2023, Kingston was adopted but later returned. Now, he’s searching for his true forever home—or even a loving foster home while he waits.

Could Kingston be your perfect match? Apply to adopt or foster today at Laramie-animals.org. 🐱💚

🐾 Meet Josephine – Waiting for Her Forever Home! 🐾

Josephine has been part of the LAWS family for a long time. She first came into our care in May 2020, was adopted in June 2020, but sadly found herself back with us in October 2024. Now, we’re hoping to find her a forever home where she’ll never have to start over again.

To help her on her journey, we’re offering $25 off her adoption fee until the end of February 2025!

Josie is a stunning green-eyed beauty with the sweetest chirps and the loudest purrs. While she’s a bit shy at first, she quickly warms up and will become your nighttime snuggle buddy. She loves basking in the sun, taking long naps, and enjoying quiet moments with her trusted people. Josie is independent, playful on her own terms, and will politely let you know when she’s had enough pets.

She thrives in a calm, quiet home where she can be the only pet and have plenty of treats. With patience and love, she’ll reward you with endless slow blinks and purrs.

Josie has been waiting a long time for the right person—could it be you? More info at Laramie-animals.org 💚🐱

LAWS is dedicated to promoting humane treatment of all animals. While we focus on domestic animal welfare, we recognize that wildlife killing contests raise ethical concerns for many in our community. We encourage respectful discussion and advocacy for policies that align with compassionate conservation practices.

DID YOU KNOW...Dog Days Coyote Derby was a COYOTE KILLING CONTEST held outside of Laramie last weekend.
Did you know there was a coyote killing contest Jan. 24-26, 2025. The team that brought in the 3 heaviest dead coyotes won $2,000.
This was held at the UW Hansen Arena parking lot. Was this officially sanctioned by the University of Wyoming? Sadly, this is one if many wildlife killing contests around the state.
If you think this is wrong, speak out and speak up.

Devastating Fire Turns Into a Miracle for Two Beloved Chihuahuas

On Friday evening, Susan and Quincy tragically lost everything in a devastating fire that destroyed their home and all their belongings. They also believed they had lost their two beloved Chihuahuas, Precious and Beanie, in the blaze.

On Sunday, a friend reached out to LAWS for help. The family discovered the unimaginable: the dogs had survived. Against all odds, the two pups were found on the property and were in stable but cold. They had some burns around their eyes and a hacking cough. It’s amazing that they not only survived the fire but also endured two bitterly cold Wyoming nights outside.

Thanks to LAWS, we were able to cover the cost for these brave pups to be evaluated at Animal Health Center. We are incredibly grateful to the team there for getting them in quickly. Both dogs are now on antibiotics, and while monitoring their recovery, they are expected to be okay—a true miracle.

While this survival story is heartwarming, Susan and Quincy are still facing an overwhelming loss. Without homeowner’s insurance, they need support to rebuild their lives and find stable housing.

We’re asking our incredible community to come together to help this family in their time of need. Please share this post to spread the word, and if you’d like to contribute, every bit helps. Thank you for your continued support and compassion.

Together, we can make a difference for this family.

Update- Gouda found a wonderful forever family. Happy life sweet boy 💕

Adopt Gouda! Gouda is a 12 week old lab mix puppy available in the foster-to-adopt program (Albany county residents only) at Laramie Animal Welfare Society - LAWS. This handsome boy will be your best personal assistant and toy tester! Rescued from Wind River, Gouda has gone from a shut down scared boy to a confident lover boy in no time flat. He is affectionate, cuddly, and energetic.

Gouda adores people and other dogs, although we know he would do well as an only puppy as well. He is doing a good job with his potty training but still needs some work. He’s not destructive, good at entertaining himself, self-assured, and all about his people. He sleeps through the night in his kennel and is easily redirected from puppy shenanigans. His favorite things are mealtime, bounding through fresh fallen snow, chewing on toys, chasing tennis balls, lap cuddles, and ear rubs. This good boy will be an amazing companion and can’t wait to meet you!

🆘 Urgent Help Needed for Cats in Crisis

We’re stepping in to help 40–50 cats after their caretaker tragically passed away. These cats are in desperate need of medical care, spay/neuter procedures, and safe homes. While some may thrive as barn cats once healthy, others could become loving house pets with time and socialization.

Here’s how you can help:
🐾 Donate: Your contributions will go toward medical care and spay/neuter costs. Donate ⏩ https://laramie-animals.org/donations/241898-v2/
🐾 Barn Homes: If you have space for barn cats, let us know! More about our barn kitty program and application can be found ⏩ https://laramie-animals.org/barn-working-cats/
🐾 Cat Food: We need food to feed the remaining cats while we work to help them. Food can be mailed or dropped off to LAWS, 1104 S. 2nd St., Laramie WY 82072.

Every bit helps as we work to give these cats a chance at a better future. Donate, foster, or share this post to spread the word! Thank you for your support. ❤️
