Today it snowed at Sit Pretty 🤣. Dogs with shorter hair or fur still need to be groomed. Deshedding or shed-less treatments help to remove a lot of the dead undercoat on double coated breeds. Using special shampoo, tools/brushes, and a high velocity dryer allows professional groomers to remove much more then what can be removed at home. This helps the dog regulate his temperature in hot or cold environments and prevents impacted coats from becoming matted which can cause many more skin issues. Stella loved being under the dryer! I love being able to provide puppies a great first grooming experience. I work with a lot of puppies and have learned many techniques in ways to make puppies feel comfortable during their first time at a scary salon. I was so happy to have little Scarlett on my schedule today! She drove an hour and a half to see me for her very first grooming experience. As you can see she enjoyed her play time after being pampered! I feel very fortunate to have the type of salon that can safely reward a puppy with play time so they begin to associate grooming as fun.
