Since dental cleaning month is over, it is good to continue to know the importance of dental cleanings all year round! 🦷
Dental cleanings are done by starting with the doctor doing a full dental examination then scaling the teeth and polishing afterwards, all while the pet is under general anesthesia. When scaling the teeth the plaque and tartar below and above the gum line will be removed. Polishing is done to finish the cleaning because it decreases the rate of plaque build up.
Tartar below the gum line causes the worst forms of periodontal disease. Periodontal disease is an infection and inflammation of the periodontium (tissue surrounding the tooth). This starts with gingivitis and if left untreated can spread deeper into the socket of the tooth causing pain and destroying the bone making the tooth become loose. If left untreated it can become a severe dental disease and the bacteria can get into the bloodstream to then affect the major organs like kidney, liver, and heart!
Continue to kiss your pets with confidence all year round! Dental cleanings are very important to the health of your pet. If you are concerned your dog has dental disease please bring them in for a consult with our doctor.🤍🐶

Did you know that your pet needs dental care too?

February is National Pet Dental Month and we wanted to take a moment to provide you all with some information regarding your pet's oral health.

Did you know that poor oral health practices in your pet can lead to other health issues that involve the heart, liver and kidneys?😲

Their oral health is just as important as ours, but they can't tell you that their mouth hurts or that they have a bad tooth and they don't understand why they can't give you kisses because thier breath is so bad.

We can help you make your pet's oral health a priority by establishing a routine for preventative care at home as well as routine cleanings.

This month we are offering $50 off of our dental package that includes bloodwork and dental x-rays. We are also offering 10% off of dental products through our on-line pharmacy with code KISS2025.

Let us help you kiss your pet with confidence this February 💋 ❤️. Give us a call today!
