🐾 Senior Alum Update 🐾

Blu was adopted back in October 2023 after spending two months with us here at the shelter. One year later, this senior boy has become a mountain dog ⛰ Blu and his family moved to the Blue Ridge Mountains and they are making the most of their exciting adventure together! His new favorite thing to do is cozy up next to a warm fire at the end of the day. We are so happy for you, Blu!

November is Adopt A Senior Pet Month. Please consider giving a sweet senior the adventure of their lifetime. Who knows - it could end up being the adventure of your lifetime, too!

What an incredible weekend! During our BISSELL Pet Foundation's Empty the Shelters event, 35 cats and 32 dogs found their new families 🐱🐶

That brings us to a total of 105 adoptions last week! 🥳

🔦 Senior Spotlight 🔦

Meet Buster! This senior man loves to be brushed, getting chin scratches, and chasing bugs 😸 He enjoys being brushed SO much that if you brush under his chin, he might even start drooling out of pure joy 😹😻 Buster has experience living with other cats and might be open to having a feline friend or two in his new home.

Feed St. Pete and SPCA Tampa Bay are coming together for a Thanksgiving Distribution on Thursday, November 21! Thanksgiving meals, pet food and pet supplies will be available from 5-6pm at Pinellas Community Church 🧡🐾

This fabulous feline is looking for his forever home. Fiji has experience living with other cats and children of all ages. During his free time, Fiji enjoys belly rubs, playing with laser pointers and spending quality time with his humans.

🐶 Fido Fun Day 🐶

Last week, Rosco was able to get some much-needed time out the shelter with one of our amazing volunteers. First stop was the hardware store where we discovered that his favorite aisle is the lumber aisle - he loves the smell of fresh wood! 🌳 Next up was the park where he was able to soak up some sunshine ☀️ and enjoy some pretty water views 🌊 During his time out, we learned that he also loves car rides!

Rosco has been waiting very patiently for a family to share more adventures with. If you think Rosco could be the one for you, stop by the shelter to meet him!

🐾 Empty the Shelters 🐾

SPCA Tampa Bay will be hosting its first-ever Empty the Shelters adoption event Friday, November 15 through Sunday, November 17 sponsored by BISSELL Pet Foundation.

This adoption event was formed as a way to provide relief to our shelter following the increase in animal intakes after Hurricanes Helene and Milton. During this Empty the Shelters event, all cats and dogs can be adopted from SPCA Tampa Bay with no adoption fee (some exclusions may apply). SPCA Tampa Bay currently has over 130 animals patiently waiting to find loving homes 🧡🐾

SPCA Tampa Bay is a proud partner of Pets for Patriots ❤️🤍💙

Veterans who adopt through the Pets for Patriots program will have their adoption fees waived when they take an animal home from SPCA Tampa Bay.

They will also receive a range of benefits to reduce the lifetime costs of having a pet and to nurture the person-pet bond 🧡🐾

🐶 This sweet senior pup is named Blue! 🐶

Blue is a happy-go-lucky kind of guy who enjoys the simple things in life like nice walks, peanut butter treats and ear rubs. In his previous home, he lived with other dogs as well as children of all ages. He also has experience with crate training!

Some of Blue's hobbies include swimming, snuggling and playing with his pup pals. If you think this gentle man could be the right fit for your family, stop by the shelter to meet him! He cannot wait to be a family dog again.

🌈 Meet Rainbow 🌈

This sweet senior cannot wait to find her new family! Despite her older age, Rainbow still loves playtime and she prefers toys that have catnip or feathers. She does have experience living with other cats, but may do best in a home with cats who can match her energy level. She also enjoys human attention and would love to spend a lot of quality time with her new family once she moves in 🧡🐾

🐶 Alumni Pup-date! 🐶

Max spent several months with us at SPCA Tampa Bay and quickly became a staff and volunteer favorite with his charming looks and personality. One of our volunteers loved him so much that she decided to foster him during hurricane Milton to give a comfortable home to ride out the storm. After just a few days, everyone knew he was there to stay. Max immediately made himself at home and even made a few four-legged friends.

Congratulations, Max! We couldn't be happier for you and your new family 🧡🐾

🐾 Pet Vaccine Clinic THIS SATURDAY 🐾

SPCA Tampa Bay will be hosting a Community Pet Vaccine Clinic Saturday, November 2 from 9AM-12PM

Registration for our November 2nd vaccine clinic is now open! Please register your pets for vaccines and microchip services ahead of time.

Vaccines and microchips are $10 each unless you bring proof that you’re on government assistance. Limit 2 pets per household. All animals must be secured in a carrier or on a leash to receive services.
