Today, we had three kitten adoptions and one sleepover. Kittens Mint, Gunther, and S'mores went home. The latters' adopter didn't want a photo. And shy chihuahua Diego went on a sleepover. We wish them all the BEST of luck!

Earlier this week, Frida went to visit the residents at Haciendas at Grace Village. She was a big hit because her favorite place to be is on a person's lap! We thank volunteer Kandi for dedicating time each week to take one of our dogs there. It's enrichment for all!! ❤️🐾❤️

We've got chihuahuas for Hispanic Heritage Month! Besides Pets-of-the-Week Frida and Diego, we also have sweet sisters Autumn and Summer, puctured here from their foster home. These cute gals will be at our adoption center this weekend to meet more prospective adopters. We are open Saturday 11 to 3 and Sunday from 12 to 4 at our Quinceañera event!! Meet Diego and Frida! These two came to us from the ASCMV a few weeks ago. They were found wandering together on the lonely streets of Las Cruces--as far too many homeless animals still are. Diego is 6 years old, and Frida is 8. They are both sweethearts who love the company of people, other dogs, and cats. Frida was a big hit today at her visit to Haciendas at Grace Village. Diego went to a foster home and is doing great. Both are looking for their final and furrever homes!!

Southern New Mexico PAWS graduate Nani paid a visit to the residents of Haciendas at Grace Village last week. She spread cheer to many people and was on her best behavior. This big, beautiful gal is still looking for a home of her own! See her visit videos in the comments.

Our Veterinary Fund spotlight this week is on Mariposa.
This sweet 3-month-old kitten was taken to the municipal shelter with an obvious femur break in her left hip. We got her in as an emergency with Dr. Kyle at Schumacher Veterinary Clinic, and she had an FHO (femoral head ostectomy) surgery. Mariposa is now at a foster home getting her physical therapy and recovering, and her prognosis is very good!
