Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is an effective method for managing and controlling feral cat populations 🐱 we call it our Community Cat Program at Pet Savers! See website for details: www.petsaversspokane.org/community-cats
Here’s how it works:
→Trapping: Feral cats are humanely trapped using special traps. This ensures that the cats are safely contained for the next steps.
→Neutering/Spaying: Once trapped, the cats are taken to a veterinary clinic (Pet Savers 😉) where they are neutered or spayed. This prevents them from reproducing.
→Vaccination: While in the clinic, many TNR programs also vaccinate the cats against common diseases, helping to improve their health and reduce the spread of illness.
→Return: After recovery, the cats are returned to their original location. This allows them to continue living in their familiar environment without contributing to the population growth.
Overall, TNR helps stabilize and gradually reduce feral cat populations over time, as the number of kittens born decreases. It also addresses the welfare of the cats by reducing their suffering and improving their health.

The other option for 24 hour care is the El Paso Animal Emergency Hospital located near the airport, 24/7 daily care. Their phone number is 915-545-1148.

Calista Animal Hospital will be closed for the Thanksgiving Holiday Thursday November 28th and Friday November 29th.

We will reopen on Monday December 2nd at 8am.

If you are experiencing an emergency with your pet our doctors recommend visiting the following locations.

Pet Dr 911 is located here in las cruces. They are open on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 8am-6pm. Their phone number is 575-523-8888.

You can also contact El Paso Animal Urgent Care West located on this side of El Paso, and they are open Thursday through Sunday from 11am-11pm. Their phone number is 915-301-0065.

The other option for bigger emergencies is the main El Paso Animal Emergency located near the airport, and they are open 24/7. Their phone number is 915-545-1148.

Hey Facebook Friends!

It's been a while but our page is up and running again. Our website calistaanimalhospital.com is also getting a revamp and we are excited about up and coming information we will be adding.

Some of you may have noticed coming into the clinic this week that an unfortunate accident took place late Tuesday night leading into Wednesday morning.

There was brick thrown through our front door window! Can you believe it?

None of our patients or clinic kitties were hurt but we are devastated that this would happen to the business where the Calista Animal Hospital family works so hard to meet the needs of fur babies in Las Cruces and surrounding areas.

Luckily our security system was able to capture an image of person around 12am Wednesday the 30th and we are working with local authorities to pinpoint who this could have been.

If anyone has any information that could be helpful please reach out to us.
