Paārus Trail (Zion National Park)The access is limited with dogs in Zion National Park, but leashed dogs are welcome in the following locations:* Paārus Trail* Public roads* Public parking areas* Developed campgrounds* Designated picnic areas* Grounds of the Zion Lodge There is one dog-friendly trail in Zion National Park, the Paārus Trail. Dogs are not permitted on any other trails, in wilderness areas, on shuttle buses, or in public buildings in Zion. Paārus Trail:* Starting Point: The trail begins across the street from the Zion Canyon Visitor Center * Length: 3.4-mile paved trail (roundtrip)* Pets must be leashed and leash cannot be longer than 6 feet.* Pet owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs. Other considerations: * The trail is paved all the way* Itās recommended to hike during cooler times of day or bring dog booties to protect your dogās feet. * You are sharing the trail with humans and bicycles, so if you have a reactive dog, maybe not ideal* At the start of the trail they are remodeling the area, so the left side is fenced for a while* Can be harmful cyanobacteria and cyanotoxins in the Virgin River within the park. Cyanotoxins may be present at any time. Keep dogs on a leash while in Zion NP and out of the water.We did a sunset hike in the middle of September in our @walkeepaws āhiking bootsā as other hikers called it šThe weather was beautiful. (If people still wanting to wear heels can get a permit with the city :-)). Why all of those rules? Is a Coastal trail, more like a scenic walk, with greenery tunnels at the beginning and lots of lovely vista points along the way with wooden benches to sit and enjoy the scenery.
Nice views of the ocean, the harbor, the town of Trinidad, beautiful wildflowers, wild huckleberries, blackberries all around.
* 1.7 mile loop
* We finished in about 50 minutes
* Parking: free by the sandy beach
* The first part of the hike is dirt trail, then gravel and paved
