Archer is super sweet! He is also potty and crate trained. He sleeps through the night. He is great on the leash and in going for walks.

He gets along with other dogs but is very shy and timid around new humans. It only took a week for Archer to warm up to us! He is getting along with Elliott, who we rescued the from the August 2022 Goldens Without Borders group.

Archer would do best with someone with another dog and someone who lives an active lifestyle. I think he would be awesome hiking or running buddy.

Sweetie - Neutered Male - Appx 6/7 yrs old

Sweetie loves the great outdoors! He would love to be on a farm/land. He is also mostly comfortable in and feels safe in his crate. He is afraid of people, so he'll need to go to a home where he is given patience and understanding. He is good with other dogs and has been exposed to and around children, but generally, he stays in his crate where he feels feels or in the great outdoors!

Duff - Neutered Male - appx 2.5 years old.

Duff is a very sweet dog. He was probably abused somewhat before we got him because at first he cringed away whenever anyone tried to pet him. Now he seeks me out and sits between my feet or on them when I am reading my email the morning.

He loves my daughter-in-law and always wants to snuggle with her when she comes over. He is never aggressive with visitors. He never wagged his tail the first week. Now, he wags his taill all the time!!!

He is housebroken, and sits by the back door when he wants to go out. If I am not paying enough, he will whine softly to get my attention to open the door. When someone comes to the front door, he will bark once to alert us, but he des not continue barking.

He has been trained to lay down back from his food dish until he hears the word "Go". We did this so he would not knock the food dish out of our hands in his excitement. I have been petting him while he is eating to desensitize him to being touched while he is eating. He still does not like it and will give me a low growl once in a while to remind me he still does not like it, but he never turns around and bares his teeth. He stays off the furniture, and he has not chewed on any furniture. He is not crated at night or when we leave the house for a while and generally does not cause any problems.

Duff has a few things to note. He likes to tear paper towels into small pieces so the trash cans have to be covered. He has on occasion taken paper off the coffee table and done the same thing. He will also sneak into the laundry room and pull an item of dirty clothing out to sneak into his bed in our bedroom. (Such a Golden Retriever thing!) He never chews on whatever he has taken. He just lays it down under his head. I think he just wants to be able to smell us as he goes to sleep. I have learned that if he grabs something I don't want him to have, if I have any trouble getting him to give it up, it is easiest to trade him a snack for the item.

On the few occasions, he has shown a little aggression when he was first here; it was obviously because he was scared. Fear could trigger Duff to growl and bare his teeth in a defensive manner. Duff plays well with our own golden retriever Spenser all the time. The two of them will spar with each other. A stranger might think they were actually is a fight but they are just jumping on each other grabbing each others ears. They never leave a mark on each other and will lay down next to each other after they are tired. They also like to play tug of war with a rope or a big tough toy.

Duff also LOVES to walk. When I get p**p bags, he knows we are getting ready for a walk. He runs around when we say; "Are we going for a walk! OMG we are going for a walk"?!

Duff just needs a home with lots of love for him, and he will show you lots of love in return!

BOB - Neutered Male - Appx 2.5 yrs old

As soon as Bob walked out of his crate at the airport, he never looked back! Bob is energetic, friendly with people and other dogs, knows some commands, and walks like a pro on the leash. He immediately took to my dogs (a male & female). He is a healthy, light colored golden with such a wonderful personality and, like all goldens … loves to be the center of attention. He also has the most beautiful, soft coat.

I have been nothing short of impressed with Bob’s zest for life with all he has been through. I have previously had 3 other goldens, so I have experience with this breed, and I can tell you, Bob is special!

Kiki - Spayed Female - Appx 2.5 yrs old

Kiki loves going for walks. She plays well with other dogs and her foster doesn’t think there would be an issue with her going to a home with another dog. She's never shown aggression toward her foster parents or their two children when she is eating. In fact, she is wonderful with their 5 year old.

She still startles at loud noises (like the mail truck), but she is getting less and less skittish as she has more time to acclimate to her new life in the USA!

Being a Golden RETRIEVER, she likes collecting shirts, shoes, blankets, and pillows to lay on. Kiki has never chewed on any of these items; she just likes to retrieve and hold for safe-keeping!

Overall, Kiki is coming out of her shell and it's been fun to watch!

Update: 3.26.2023 - Adoption Pending!

Please meet Goldens Without Borders Rescue; 'COLIN'. However, he seems to like and recalls to 'Champ' or 'Champs'!

He is around 7 years old, neutered, appx 58 lbs, super easy-going SWEET boy. He gets along well with other dogs. He has not been exposed to cats, nor children. He is not food, nor toy aggressive. He is gentle with treats. He loves walks and is a perfect boy on the leash. He is curious (everything is new and different here in the US) so he might give a bark or two to open the lines of communication, but he'd never leave you; he'll stick by your side like a good boy.

Not 1 house potty accident, and I do not have a doggy door. He will usually pace a little if he needs to go outside. He learned that from his foster sister and brother.

His lower eye lids are rolling into his eyes a little, so they just need to be monitored and kept moist. They're already a little better with all the good stuff America has to offer; good care, good food, and good fresh air.

He had an ear infection which is all gone now. He had 2 teeth pulled, and the rest checked out good. Poor little guy was in pain initially between his ear infection, teeth, and an irritated eye; and yet he'd let you do anything to him. He is so sweet and gentle and just wants to be loved and to be with his person.

He is crate trained, but doesn't need it anymore. Though, in his new forever home, initially, it might be beneficial to use as a tool for the first little while so he can get used to the rules. He likes tissue; kleenex, paper towels, toilet paper; he's been good with me, but I keep a close eye and give a low 'no' and he doesn't grab for those items anymore with me. You have to remember; these babies were often starved, or fed with food thrown on the ground to fend for themselves. They simply need consistent healthy boundaries on what should and shouldn't be eaten; inside and outside. This guy is so smart though, he is a really quick learner and only wants to make you happy. So, reinforcement for anything with a treat, and he's got it!

He loves car rides! It's so cute- he'll sit like a person and check out the scenery. He is up for an adventure, but he is still a little under weight, and has little to no muscle due to being in a cage in a dark barn with little to no daylight his entire life. He's already 'trotting' like he won the world championships by getting rescued and landing in the USA, but he's not going to be running a marathon with you. He'll jump up on the couch, and sleep with you in bed, but he's not a jumper and he'd rather be relaxed, take leisure strolls, and just be a really good best friend to you.

Oh, he LOVES getting baths. He sticks his nose in the air and slightly closes his eyes. So cute!

ARCHER
Meet 2.5 year old Archer! We are fostering him from the Feb 14th group. Super sweet, potty trained, crate trained (sleeps through the night), and walks great on a leash. He gets along with other dogs but is very shy and timid around new humans. But it has only been a week and he has already warmed up to us so much! He is getting along with Elliott who we rescued the from the August 2022 group. He would do best with someone with another dog and someone who lives an active lifestyle-I think he would be awesome hiking or running buddy. Someone will be so lucky to have him.



BARRY
1.5 year old Barry is a sweet, loving dog. He is the compact version of a Golden. He's perfect in the car, stores, he's clean, sleeps all night with me, nice to everyone, dogs, cats, humans. He needs training to understand commands and all but he's smart and eager to learn.











BOB

KIMMIE
Kimmie is 2 years old and is a sweetheart. She loves being pet and is a big love. Loves her walks and puts herself to bed when tired. Kimmie is amazingly sweet anyone would be lucky to adopt her when ready.



KIKI
Kiki loves going for walks. She is doing well on her housebreaking but still trying to get the hang of it. Her foster has no other dogs to show her where she is supposed to go. If she is fed outside, she will p*e after eating and before coming into the house but did have a recent accident in the house with p**p.

She plays well with other dogs and her foster doesn’t think there would be an issue with her going to a home with another dog. Kiki was in a previous home with multiple dogs and she was said to be food aggressive. She's never shown aggression toward her foster parents or their two children when she's eating. In fact, she's wonderful with their 5 year old.

Although she still startles at loud noises (like the mailman's truck), she's getting less and less skittish.

She has this weird/cute habit of collecting shirts, shoes, blankets, and pillows to lay on. Kiki has never chewed on any of these things. It's like she's a hoarder.

Overall, Kiki is coming out of her shell and it's been fun to watch!

Hello all GWB fosters and adopters.....It is with a heavy heart I share with you that our leader and founder of GWB, Sheila Donnelly Oliviera has passed away early this morning. Sheila was diagnosed with ALS, Lou Gherig's Disease on New Year's Eve Day, 2021. Sheila was a fighter and fought until the end, inspiring so many people as she always did in life. A loving mother, wife and friend. Sheila will be missed here on earth. She realized her dreams becoming reality when she founded GWB back in 2016. In those years GWB has rescued almost 400 dogs and found loving homes for them all. I loved Sheila like my sister. I admired her for her intellect, her compassion, her spirit and her tenacity.

Jeff is a big beautiful loving boy. If you ever wanted a 93 LB Golden Retriever to wrap yourself around, Jeff is your boy. He is not overweight; he is just a big/tall dog. He is very loving (think lap dog), walks good on the leash if you use the connection ring under his neck, he will pull some but not too bad. He is friendly with other dogs big and small; he is good around children. No food or toy aggression observed. After his belly is full in the morning and he has had a nice walk he will calmly follow you around the house, lay near or under your desk, or by your chair and take a nap.
Jeff is housebroken (not a single accident in my home). I genuinely thought he was too big for the doggy door but he squeezes right through it without tearing it out of the door, which is a plus. If you don’t like male dogs because they lift their leg to p*e Jeff could be the male dog of your dreams. Jeff might be trans because he p*es like a girl. No really, he squats. But he has a bark like the big dogs. Nobody will dare touch you while walking him or coming up to your door.
Jeff demands a tidy house. He assures that you keep all food or anything smelling like food off the kitchen counters and leave no magazines, paper towels, tissues, classified documents, or etc. laying around because he will pick them up and carry them away. Make sure your dirty laundry is not on the floor. Socks, underwear, slippers, t-shirts, sweaters will be swiftly carried over and deposited to his toy pile. He is a bit of a hoarder although he will not eat them. He just wants to collect them for future reference in case he has to go search for you.
