Meet Jake! Jake is a year and half year old Shepherd and weighs around 65lbs. He loves food and will help himself to anything within his reach that is not under lock and key: a bag of potatoes, pizza, … etc. Jake was a rescue from a previous home where he was found abandoned in the street in July of 2023. Jake is currently not around any other pets, but he was around other dogs in the previous home. Jake is very sweet and loving, but full of energy. Jake requires constant attention from his humans or other pet interaction. Jake is house broken, and can use a doggie door. Jake is currently a “chewer" and needs to be kept busy and active. He is a super smart boy and does understand some simple commands like: sit and stay. If you're interested in meeting this handsome boy please fill out an application on our website.

Hello, my name Is Wolfie! I have spent the last 10-12 weeks growing into a hunka-chunk-of-love, and now I am ready to find a forever family to share life with. My love language is cuddles, good food, belly rubs and companionship – I love to be around those I love. I do not get rattled by much, I am a pretty easy guy to have around; oh, and I learn really fast. I am looking for someone who wants a life-long partner (I am done with dating, it is just so much work) and who has a home with fully fenced yard to keep me safe and secure, and (fingers crossed) a friend for companionship and to help me learn the flow of my new home. I have been lovingly raised in a foster home since I was 10 days old (can you believe a human dumped me and my siblings in a box at a shelter door). I am a male Shepherd/Bully mix, and my siblings are Beetlejuice (male), Rory (male) and Astrid (female). Wolfie was recently neutered and is ready to find his forever home today. Wolfie is being raised in a loving foster home with both small and large dogs, and really wants to be part of a family pack (whether human or doggy). He has previous experience with using a doggie door, and can use potty pads, etc. He is learning bladder control and prefers to do his potty outside if given the opportunity. We think he will be on the large side of medium/large when fully grown. If you are interested in meeting Wolfie, please fill out an adoption interest form on our website and the foster will get back to you shortly. Adoption fees and home checks apply.

Meet Joey! Joey is a sweet man. He needs a patient and quiet home where he can be himself and just enjoy his days. He isn't big on playing or being cuddly, but he does love his people. He’s not really into toys. But then again boarding changes some pups and they don’t feel free to be themselves. A foster home would make a huge difference for a pup like this. He really needs someone to show him what love is again. He will let you pick him up without issues. He does fine in a kennel and can be a little whinny but he stops quickly. He is potty trained, neutered, microchipped, and utd on vaccines. A home with no other dogs, children, or cats is preferred. Someone who just wants a companion around and will let this guy get comfortable in his surroundings. If you're interested in fostering or adopting, please fill out an application.

Meet Ozzie! This beautiful 4 year old shepherd is looking for his forever home after the only family he's known his entire life had to give him up as they even threatened to euthanize this sweet boy!! Ozzie is doing so great currently in foster care! He is very well mannered and clearly had training, he knows commands very well! His recall is a bit hard to test since in true Shepherd Velcro dog fashion he never strays far from his person and will come back to your side just by saying his name. He is pretty amazing! Also completely non destructive! He loves toys and stuffed animals but won't shred them! Ozzie's favorite is playing catch and tug of war. If you aren't playing with him he will just lay and wait somewhere without complaining. No separation anxiety! Ozzie is also 100% housebroken and non reactive to some of his current rude and loud foster siblings. He'll just ignore them even if they bark at him when he walks by. He also gets along well with smaller dogs but due to his size (about 80 lbs) and playfulness we would recommend them to be 'sturdy' and maybe at least 35 pounds. He would do great as an only dog also, he doesn't mind other dogs but just isn't all that interested in playing with them much, he prefers to play with two legged friends if given a choice. Ozzie's ideal forever home would not have a lot of foot traffic, not many people in and out of the house constantly as it takes him a minute to warm up to strangers. He will be protective of his home and his family and will need to be properly introduced to visitors. He's not a dog that will just greet everyone happily at the front door. Ozzie isn't very high energy, but he would love a yard to play fetch in. He walks very well on a leash and isn't reactive to dogs or people outside the house, unless they invade his space. Breed experience and/or common sense as well as a few meet and greets will be necessary if you are interested in adopting this great boy! He supposedly is good with cats based on what his prior "family" reported but this hasn't been able to be confirmed since he entered rescue. Please fill out an interest form if you’re interested in meeting Ozzie and contact Ashley for any questions 702-830-3403

Introducing Willow! She had been roaming the desert for days before being rescued on 10/14/24. I can’t get over the difference in her demeanor since Monday’s successful rescue mission (swipe to see the transformation)! She was so exhausted and terrified just three days ago and now she is on top of the world! Willow is a precious, happy girl who loves being around people. 6-9 months old and 28 pounds. She’s had her first round of shots and has been given a clean bill of health from the vet. Her spay is scheduled for next Friday. We are desperate to find her a loving foster home and keep her out of a boarding situation or the shelter. She’s so happy now, and we want to keep her spirits lifted as we wait for an owner to come forward or begin the search for her forever home. She is not microchipped and so far no one has reached out in response to multiple posts. Please share! ‼️

It is with unbearable sadness that we share the loss of our friend and sister, Heather Carpenter. Heather wasn’t just a leader at Hearts Alive Village—she was a beacon of light, a force for good who dedicated her life to protecting animals in her long and respected career at HSUS. Her passing is a tragedy felt all over the world. We cannot begin to process this untimely loss.
Heather had so much left to do. So many more battles to fight for the animals she loved. So many more moments of joy, laughter, and life to experience. It feels impossible to make sense of this tragedy, but we can only believe that the rainbow bridge needed her—needed her vision, her leadership. Maybe they called her home because they needed someone to bring some style to the heavens and also help guide their angel energy to support our fight.
Heather gave us more than we could ever put into words. She elevated our mission, fought beside us, cried with us during the darkest days, and celebrated each triumph. She was so proud of our growth and was the biggest cheerleader for HAV. She was more than a colleague—she was family, a sister in every sense of the word. When she made Las Vegas her home, our community became better, kinder, and stronger because she was here.
We know Heather’s legacy will live on. We will make sure of that. But right now, we’re doing what she would have wanted most: pouring our hearts and love into her precious babies, Smokey, Lola, Leopold, and Moxie.
We can hear her voice say their names.
They were her world, and they are now our world. We are committed to comforting them in the loss of their home and the best mom. We are committed to keeping the pack together and securing the most optimal future for them—because that’s what Heather would want.
Our hearts are shattered, and we know we’re not alone in this grief. Heather touched so many lives all across the world, and we will never forget her. Fly high, Heather. We will miss you everyday. And we’ll keep fighting as you did to make this a kinder world for animals.

Mitch is a 2 year old English Bulldog. He is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots. Mitch is house trained but has been caught marking a few times. He knows sit, stay, and shake. He has lived with cats and doesnt seem to pay any attention to them. It’s clear he wasn’t treated the best his first years of life. Mitch is jumpy in certain situations and seems to not fully understand what a real loving home is. He has lived with dogs, male and female. Him and the female very quickly became best of friends. The male, however, Mitch just couldn’t handle having any male competition. He would do best in a home with a female dog or as the only dog. He can be territorial when laying in his bed or allowed on the couch. For this reason he would do best in a home with no small children. He is a very playful little guy. Mitch loves chewing on bones, treats(which he takes very gently but has also been caught sneaking out of the cabinet), and side scratches. He will do great and be a loyal companion in a home that has patience and can show him what real love is.

Penelope is a sweet energetic girl. She can be a cuddle bug when she tires out. She’s just under 7 lbs currently. She has no fear and gets along with my older dogs. She is sleeping through the night and doesn’t potty in her crate. She has limited experience with kids but did well the few encounters she’s had with them. Penelope is around 8 weeks old and thought to be pit or bully mix.

If you are interested in meeting Penelope, please fill out an adoption interest form on our website and the foster will get back to you shortly. Adoption fees and home checks apply.
