🌟 Urgent Call to Action: Help Us Help the Animals Affected by the Southern California Fires 🌟

The devastation from the SoCal fires has left countless communities and animals in desperate need. Like you, we felt compelled to act, and we’ve partnered with a California rescue to save as many lives as we possibly can!

Many shelters are being flooded with displaced animals, and they’re holding these pets in hopes their families can reclaim them. But to do so, they need space—space that wasn’t there before. The dogs we’ve pulled were already on euthanasia lists or at high risk of landing there. By rescuing these dogs, we’ve created room for the fire-displaced pets to have a chance to reunite with their families. ♥️

Pups arrive Friday and need LAS VEGAS fosters available this weekend!🙏

It’s a chain of compassion, and now we need your help to keep it moving. We urgently need fosters for the first 4 pups
🐾 1 male senior cream French
🐾 1 female younger blue French
🐾 1 male younger lilac English
🐾 1 male younger cream French

The brindle and lilac English we have fosters but wanted to showcase they are safe. And the last English and Frenchie we should know today if they are coming with us.

🔹 Limited info is available on these dogs. We need foster families willing to open their homes and hearts, to take a chance on these animals.
🔹 We provide everything you need: crates, pens, food. If you have no other dogs, even better—but if you do, we can help you separate them while the new dogs adjust.

Our rescue is stretched thin. We already have so many dogs waiting for fosters or forever homes, and our existing network simply has no space left. We need new fosters to step forward!

🌟 Meet Sunny: Looking for His Forever Home! 🌟

Sunny is Smoke’s brother, featured in our last post, and their story is one of resilience and hope.

🎉 Born on New Year’s Day 2024, Sunny and Smoke came into the world at the Barstow Shelter. At just three weeks old, they were living in a cold, overcrowded kennel with their mom and several large dogs when we saw them and knew we had to step in and save them.

Sadly, as non-bulldogs, finding them homes was challenging. Eventually, their foster mom adopted them both. Tragically, she passed away recently, and Sunny and Smoke came back under our care.

✨ About Sunny:
• Age: Just turned 1 year old!
• Personality: Sunny is an absolute gem—loyal, smart, and eager to please.
• Skills: He’s potty trained, crate trained, and currently learning commands in foster.
• Dog- & Cat-Friendly: Sunny is amazing with dogs of all sizes and even cats!
• Family-Friendly: Sunny would be a wonderful addition to just about any family ready to give him the love and commitment he deserves.

Lucy was surrendered by her breeder a couple days ago. She had her babies 4 weeks ago so she still has some minimal residual bleeding etc but is happy and healthy and ready for a home to settle in and learn all about love.

Lucy is dog friendly with dogs of all sizes and could care less about cats. She’s super affectionate and playful. She would fit in anywhere really. ♥️♥️

🐾 Meet Smoke: Looking for a Foster or Forever Home! 🐾

Smoke’s Story:
Smoke and his brother Sunny were rescued as tiny three-week-old puppies from the Barstow Shelter, along with their mom. They were in a cold, overcrowded kennel with three other large dogs, and we knew we had to save them. Sadly, finding homes for non-bulldogs can be tough, but they were eventually adopted by their foster mom.

Recently, we learned their foster mom had passed away, and they ended up in the care of a family member who didn’t know to return them to us. Thanks to their microchips, we brought them back into our care. Now Smoke is ready to find the real forever home he deserves!

✨ About Smoke:
• Age: Just turned 1 year old on January 1st!
• Weight: Around 50 pounds, with some more filling out to do.
• Personality: Smoke is a flouncy, floppy, happy-go-lucky guy who adores people. He’s eager to please and will follow you everywhere, ready to do whatever you ask.
• Dog-Friendly: Smoke gets along great with dogs of all sizes and would thrive in a home with another playful pup.

👀 👀 Look for posts over the next three days of all of our dogs looking for forever or foster homes 👀👀

I am currently fostering MULTIPLE dogs and I really have to get some pups out of my house as my special needs dogs are not thriving with this many pups here and are not getting the true dedicated time and care they need and deserve from me. None of them are really with this many dogs.

We also have many truly amazing pups waiting for too long for their forever homes!

We NEED your help sharing and getting these dogs seen! 🙏🙏 Many of these pups are not French or English bulldogs so we truly need help getting them out there to be seen by a wider audience.

I am basically begging at this point for help, I am overwhelmed and should not have to take on all of these pups myself. 🥺

We are still planning to take in multiple dogs this week from California to assist with space and incoming pups affected by the fires. But we can only help dogs moving forward with dedicated fosters.

We are also working on our foster database right now!
So if you have applied to foster with us from November - today, we will be reaching out this week if your app is approved to see if you are still available to help.

🚨 URGENT: FOSTERS NEEDED TO SAVE LIVES IN SOCAL 🚨

We are in desperate need of fosters for dogs we are trying to pull from some of the worst shelters in California. These shelters are overwhelmed with dogs displaced by the fires, and the dogs already there are now at immediate risk of euthanasia due to space. 💔

By stepping up, you are directly saving lives. These four English Bulldogs and one Pug are in critical need of safe spaces, and we cannot save them without committed fosters. And there are countless more at risk and waiting…

🐾 Here’s how you can help:
• We need COMMITTED AND DEDICATED fosters in Las Vegas to care for these dogs after they’re transported.

Depending on transport date we may need temporary fosters in Southern California for one to two weeks max.

These dogs will need their own quiet space to decompress for a few days before being introduced to other pets. We provide all supplies, vet care, and support—you provide the love and space to save a life.

🌟 What happens next:
Once we know which dogs we’re pulling, we will urgently need to fundraise to cover their care. But first, we need fosters lined up to commit to saving them.

🚨🙏URGENT $5 FRIDAY PLEA! WE NEED YOUR HELP!🙏🚨

We’re drowning in unexpected vet bills this week and desperately need to raise $2,000 TODAY to continue helping the dogs in our care. Here’s what we’re facing:

1️⃣ Cocoa’s $1,300 unexpected bill hit hard, and we’ve barely received donations to cover it.
2️⃣ Bugatti is at the vet now for a potential obstruction, which could be a devastating bill.
3️⃣ We took in two new pups from the shelter yesterday, both in terrible condition, and they’ve already seen the vet.
4️⃣ We’re trying to make room to pull dogs from California shelters impacted by the fires, but without funding, we can’t commit to saving them.

Our new pups:
🐾 Po’ Boy ~2-year-old, 25lb English Bulldog with severe cherry eyes scheduled for surgery this month. He’s also a cryptorchid, meaning his neuter will cost more. Po’ Boy is nothing but sweet and playful, a tiny little nugget who deserves a chance.
🐾 Lana– She’s heartbreakingly tiny, likely only 3 years old (not 7 as the shelter estimated). Her body condition is a 2. She’s severely underweight, with sores all over her feet and legs. Her ear infection is severe, she looks to more recently had her ears cropped and part won’t heal- she screamed and cowered when I tried to cut her collar off 💔😭 It’s clear she’s endured immense suffering.

It’s gut-wrenching to keep seeing dogs like this and to keep asking for help. But we are in a very tight spot right now and cannot do this without your support. 🙏

💔 Every time we ask for donations, it means another dog has been used, abandoned, abused, or neglected—and it breaks us. We hate asking, but we can’t do this without you.

🙏 Even $5 can make a difference! If everyone gives just a little, we can meet our goal and ensure these pups get the care they desperately need.

🖤 Welcome Bugsy to Retire to Rescue! 🤍

Meet Bugsy, our newest addition—a stunning, 4-year-old Mini English Bulldog with beautiful black and white coloring. 😍 Bugsy was recently surrendered by his owner and is understandably a bit confused, but he’s already showing what a sweetheart he truly is.

When Bugsy came to us, he was in rough shape—extremely dirty, with very long nails and signs of not being properly cared for. We’re heartbroken when this happens, but grateful to be able to give him the care he deserves.🙏

Bugsy has started adjusting well in foster care, though he’s experiencing some separation anxiety after everything he’s been through. He’s people-friendly, dog-friendly, and will be looking for his forever home after he gets neutered in a couple of weeks.

Please help us give Bugsy a warm welcome to Retire to Rescue! You’ll be seeing more of this sweet boy soon. 💕
