Help US TURN HUMP DAY INTO HELP DAY!🤝
We’ve got some seriously adorable new faces looking for love—and a safe place to land.

Meet Courdelle – our newest arrival from the shelter! This tiny 30 lb maybe English/Frenchie mix is sweet as can be and just about a year old. Right now, he’s feeling a little defensive around other dogs (understandably so—he’s been through things we will never know), so he needs a home with no other dogs or one that can give him space to decompress. He’s not neutered yet and would thrive in a calm foster or foster-to-adopt home.

F***gy is arriving Friday afternoon and needs a foster ASAP. She’s around 5 years old, dog and people friendly, and incredibly sweet. She’s a retired breeding mama with some serious allergy issues, so she’ll need to be fed separately and seen by a vet to get her on track. She also needs to be spayed, but she’s truly a lovely girl.

Peppa 2.0 is a 3-year-old owner surrender who’s been boarding at the vet for her allergies. She’s doing better now and will be coming into our care tomorrow. Peppa is super dog friendly, kid friendly, and basically a total gem. Like F***gy, she’ll need separate feeding and help managing her allergies.

Robin! This gorgeous 3-year-old purebred English Bulldog was just surrendered by a breeder. She’s already spayed and ready to find her forever or foster-to-adopt home! Robin is a bit on the bigger side and is super dog and people friendly. She’s crate trained, dog door trained, and just an all-around sweetheart. She still needs her rabies vaccine and a vet exam, but she’s nearly ready to go!
Robin can be adopted out of state—you’ll just need to pick her up in Las Vegas within 14 days of adoption approval.

Take ‘Em Home Tuesday: Meet Kenzo!💚

Kenzo is a small 3–4 year old male French Bulldog who was surrendered by a breeder about a month ago — and since then, he’s been living his best foster life, gaining some healthy weight, soaking up the snuggles, and discovering his greatest joy in life: BALLS.

Seriously — any shape, size, or color… if it rolls, Kenzo’s on it. ⚽️🏀🏈🎾🏐

But once the ball is down, he’s back to his mellow self.
This guy is the perfect combo of playful and chill.
He loves nothing more than being held like a baby, head hanging upside down, just soaking in the love.

Take Em Home Tuesday — Reintroducing Smalls! (Again)🐾

Don’t let his name fool you — Smalls is anything but small! This lilac fluffy Frenchie is about a year and a half old, and with his long legs, we call him the Cadillac of Frenchies.

Smalls was adopted back in June after spending several months with the rescue due to people not quite knowing what to make of his unique size. Sadly, he’s found his way back to us through no fault of his own. Although he got along great with the other dogs in his previous home, one of the resident pups decided she no longer wanted Smalls around. His loving adopter made the difficult decision to surrender him back to us, hoping we can find a safer, happier home for this sweet boy.

🐾 Take-Em-Home Tuesday: Harper’s Turn! 🐾

Harper has come so far on her journey to finding a forever home, and now it’s finally her turn! ❤️

This sweet, loving girl landed an amazing foster home where she’s adored, but unfortunately, their second-story living situation just isn’t the right fit for her. Harper isn’t able to navigate a full set of stairs, which makes potty training tough. However, when she’s near the door and able to get outside, she’s fully potty trained!

🐶 Between 5-7 years old
👶 Great with all people, including kids!
🐾 Not dog aggressive, but prefers to be the only pet
🏡 Best suited for a home without many stairs

Harper’s story is heartbreaking but inspiring—she was bred for profit, dumped when she was no longer useful, and ended up on a euthanasia list in a Southern California shelter. We saved her and another dog (who has since been adopted), and now it’s Harper’s turn to find the love and stability she truly deserves.

She’s gotten the best care of her life in rescue, and now all she needs is a forever family willing to give her the love and attention she craves. Could that be you?

Max is an 8-year-old, 5.2-lb Yorkie with a huge personality in a tiny package.

He was recently surrendered by his previous owner, but he’s now thriving in a loving foster home after a serious grooming and ready for his forever lap — we mean, forever home.🏡

• Recently had a dental (he’s working with about 3 teeth now!)
• Eats wet food only — not a big eater, but needs the soft stuff

Take ‘Em Home Tuesday: Meet Robyn!💛

Say hello to Robyn, a three-year-old English Bulldog who has finally landed where she belongs: in rescue, safe, and surrounded by love.💗

Robyn was surrendered by her breeder this past week, and this moment is especially meaningful — we’ve known of Robyn for a while now and have been patiently waiting for the chance to bring her into the Retired to Rescue family. And now, here she is.🥹

After three long years of being used for breeding, Robyn is free and ready to start her real life.

• Affectionate, energetic, and oh-so-happy
• A little bigger and bouncy — best in a home without super young kiddos

We hate asking… but we have to.

The truth is, we simply can’t keep saving these dogs without your support.
And right now, we are in desperate need of funds for the wave of babies we’ve taken in — especially the three girls we pulled from the Animal Foundation just yesterday.

Let us introduce you to them:

Tink (because she’s SO tiny)
This sweet little Frenchie is overall healthy, already spayed, and heading to foster today. She’s a bit underweight but otherwise doing well — and we’ll be looking for her forever home soon.

Then there’s her little bully friend — maybe the cutest thing we’ve ever seen. Name TBD. She’s likely less than a year old and has some serious issues with her legs.
The shelter didn’t do x-rays, so we need to get those done ASAP to understand what’s going on, especially with one leg that seems to be significantly affecting her mobility. She’s now safe with our incredible foster Amy (who is also fostering our sweet Polly Pocket!).

And finally, we have sweet little Darling. This poor girl was on the euth list at the shelter, and we pulled her just in time.
She’s in urgent need of an enucleation (eye removal) scheduled for Wednesday, as well as a spay and hernia repair. Her medical needs are extensive, and her bill alone will be over $1,500.
We’ve received some amazing pledges, but we still have a long way to go.

We’re begging — if you can donate even $5 today, it would mean the world.
It’s not easy to keep asking. It’s not easy to keep up. But we cannot do this without you.

The economy is scary. We get it. But every little bit keeps us going. Every donation keeps these dogs alive.

Harper is still waiting—and she needs us!

You’ve seen her face before. Harper is the older girl who spent her entire life being used for breeding, and now she finally has a shot at peace, comfort, and love. She’s not asking for much—just a quiet place to rest her head from April 10th-13th while we work to get her into a forever home.💕

She’s been through more than most dogs ever will, and yet she’s still so gentle, so kind, and so grateful for any softness the world offers her.

F***gy is a stunning 5-year-old female Frenchie who rehomed by her breeder a couple years ago to a friend. When her breeder found out she was given away and was not being well cared for she stepped in to ensure F***gy’s safety and well-being, and now she’s helping us get her into rescue where she belongs. This woman no longer breeds frenchies after the explosion of horrific overbreeding and immoral breeding practices that began during the pandemic. And she stands by her dogs even now ♥️ We recognize and commend her responsible action.

We need urgent transport help this Monday afternoon to get F***gy from Barstow, CA to her next safe stop. If you’re available and can help this sweet girl start her new journey, please reach out ASAP!

Rescue is built on community support, and this week, we’re desperately asking for your help again. We’ve committed to taking in several Frenchies, all in need of urgent medical care and loving foster homes.

🐾 First up, a tiny female Merle Frenchie surrendered by a breeder. Her ears are completely sealed shut from untreated chronic infections, just like Ember and Penny. We’ll be getting her to the vet to get cultures and start treatment ASAP. ✨FOSTER SECURED

🐾 Next, a female Lilac Merle Frenchie and her likely son. We only planned to take in one, but when we arrived, another was surrendered too. The female has a foster, but we desperately need a foster for the male. He’s sweet, dog friendly and always has that tongue out 😜

🐾 A former breeder Frenchie with severe allergies is being surrendered to us early next week. She’ll need immediate vet care, an allergy shot, and specialized food to help her feel better. 🤍FOSTER NEEDED

🐾 Two tiny girls are waiting at the shelter for us on Sunday. The frenchie is just 15 pounds, and the other, a 16-pound “micro” bully, likely suffering from congenital orthopedic deformities like Polly Pocket. She’ll need X-rays and vet care to determine if we can help her mobility. 🤍FOSTERS NEEDED

💔We have some devastating news to share💔

Please take a moment to watch the video we’ve shared, but with heavy hearts, we want to let you know that we had to say goodbye to sweet Eleanor today.

Eleanor developed a fatal condition called myelomalacia — a rapid and incurable deterioration of the spinal cord. I’ve experienced this before with my first IVDD Frenchie, and as heartbreaking as it is, the only compassionate option is to let them go peacefully before the condition affects their breathing and causes even more suffering.

We had originally scheduled her peaceful passing for this evening, but due to how quickly her condition worsened, we had to move it up. She had no deep pain sensation, couldn’t sit, urinate, or defecate on her own, and despite medications, her pain could not be managed. We made the most difficult but most loving decision to let her rest.😔

Eleanor was deeply loved. She knew it. And even though her time with us was short, we’re so grateful we got to show her love, comfort, and dignity.🤍

We’re heartbroken thinking she could’ve passed alone in a shelter. She deserved so much more — and we gave her that.

If you’re able to help honor Eleanor’s memory by donating toward her medical bill, we’d be incredibly thankful. We’re in a tough financial spot as we continue to take in Frenchies with IVDD and other medical needs — but we won’t stop fighting for them.
