If you decide to bring your dog around me, here are some things you should know:

1. I might say hi to you.

2. I will ABSOLUTELY say hi to your dog.

3. I will talk in a weird, high, squeaky voiceβ€”possibly an oddly low voice if it’s a big dog. I’ll just use whatever voice I think Your dog will best understand, okay?

4. I will try not to ignore you completely, but I make no promises. I only have so much energy to give, and a large part of it is gonna go to your pet.

5. I will ask your dog if it wants to come home with me at least once. I have three kids and two dogs of my own, I promise, I have no intentions of stealing your beloved pooch. It’s just something I am obliged to ask.

6. If I say I love You, ignore me. I’m not talking to you, I’m talking to your dog.
