Excessive Heat Advisory
As a rule of thumb: put your hand on the pavement for seven seconds before heading outside with your dog. If it’s too hot for your hand, then it’s also too hot for your pet's paws.

Taking walk in the early morning or after the sun sets can also ensure cooler temperatures and a safer situation for your dog.

If you do need to go out while it’s still hot, try and walk in the grass as much as possible. You can also invest in a good pair of dog booties to keep your pet’s paw’s safe or use a topical product to toughen up their paws.

Raise your hand if dessert is your favorite part of the meal! 🙋 Your pets would probably agree with you, however, keep the desserts on the table this year. Many deserts contain things like chocolate, nuts, and xylitol which are all harmful for your pets to eat.

Halloween candies containing the artificial sweetener xylitol can also be poisonous to dogs. Even small amounts of xylitol can cause a sudden drop in blood sugar and subsequent loss of coordination and seizures. “Xylitol ingestion can also cause liver failure in dogs, even if they don’t develop symptoms associated with low blood sugar. 🍫🍭🍬

Of course, your pet may look cute as superman or a fairy princess...but are they really comfortable?
Make sure they fit into their costume and make sure they can't chew on any part of it as well. 🐱‍🚀🎃🐶

Keep a close eye on them to make sure they are OK.
