DR Spay & Neuter

DR Spay & Neuter I am one lucky girl to be given the opportunity to work with an organization completely devoted to the well being of the strays of the Dominican. blessed!

In 2013 our family moved to the DR after my husband was offered a job in Punta Cana. We thought it would be a great experience for our 5 year old daughter and we were not wrong. I was blessed to meet a team of animal rescuers in Punta Cana and I had an opportunity to do what I was scared to doing when I was young, becoming a Veterinary Technician in the DR. I started helping at spay and neuter cl

inics and became more and more involved working with the Vet at the clinics. My daughter and I had opportunities given to me we would have never had in the states. See, I started out in Pre-Vet in college and was afraid to fail at it and quit. My daughter wants to either be a Vet or a Zoologist. We unfortunately had to move back in late 2015, and a huge piece of my heart was left in the DR. It wasn't all roses though. I saw more death and cruelty to animals in the time I was living there than I did in over 20 years as a police officer. Part of this problem is the animal over population caused by the amount of stray dogs and cats in the country. The only way to combat this is to have major spay and neuter clinics in the country and to educate people. This organization will do just that and work with ALL of the rescue organizations in the DR to bring mega clinics to the country. Please consider donating so I can help bring these clinics to a developing country I love so much.
