Patrick Swayze once said, "They told me my house smelled like dogs, and I asked them, do you know what a dog smells like? It smells like gratitude, loyalty, nobility, affection, pure unconditional love. And in spite of all they've been through, they smell no resentment. So blessed that my house smells like dogs."

Isn't this the perfect reminder that true blessings can't be measured by society's standards? Patrick Swayze captured what we seasoned dog mamas have known all along - that a house filled with the presence of our faithful companions is really filled with love, not just "dog smell." When our hearts are full of joy and gratitude from our four-legged angels, who cares what others think about our homes? After all, the most precious things in life can't be seen, but they can surely be felt... and sometimes smelled! ❤️

Join us tomorrow, Saturday, January 11th, from 9 AM to noon at Petco on Sahara for our first adoption event of the year! 🐶💖 We have adorable puppies and more waiting to find their forever homes.

We wanted to share an update with all of you on our sweet little parvo pups. They are doing amazing. They are eating and drinking well and actually look forward to play time. They will be ready for homes before we know it but for now they are receiving lots of love and social interaction in their foster home. They really enjoy that they can snuggle and play with each other🥰

Update 1/9: Unfortunately we haven't had any sightings since the original post. Our search efforts took a detour yesterday when an off leash dog was hit by a car in the area of the search. 🌈🙏 We have dedicated volunteers back out searching today.

🚨We need an organized community effort on this search😞 today.

Yesterday at approximately 2:30pm there was a post of dog dumped along Lake Mead near Frenchman Mountain.

We spent last night looking, only to find other deceased animals 🙏

Today we are back on the hunt...
Meanwhile an owner shows up looking for his dog...that that girlfriend dumped 😡 looks exactly like the post.

What we need?
A group of volunteers that can come out to walk the area for sightings, ATVs, Drones and anything that can help find this boy while there's still daylight. I know it's windy 😥

Time is of the essence, let's save this beautiful boy so he doesn't end up dead like the others left out like trash.

Please share to any hiking groups or people that may frequent the area.

Today a couple of deserving pups got to enjoy their “Freedom Rides” leaving the Animal Foundation. Please welcome Juanito (left) and Poppy (right). Both were strays and never reclaimed. They are now part of the loving TLB family and in foster care. We are learning what we can about them while they decompress. They will be looking for their forever homes very soon…

Some of you might remember a few weeks back when we had Poppy, the giant Schnauzer (mix) puppy. Well we’d like to welcome her brother Denzel to the TLB family. He’s a sweet, loving and playful boy and he would love to become a member of your family. He’ll be joining us this coming Saturday at Petco adoptions. Stay tuned for additional information.

Adoption Event Update

As we reach the end of another year, we would like to thank all of our loyal supporters. You all mean the world to us, and we certainly could not achieve what we do without that support. We hope that each of you finds peace and tranquility in the upcoming year.

In rescue, our days run into weeks, into months and into years. There is no end and no beginning. We are continuously out there looking for the next animal to save. Currently, there is an overabundant supply, and we hope and pray that someday it might become a more controllable amount so that we are not seeing what we see on a regular basis. We want to be able to believe in human kindness where animals come first. Take the time to care for your animals through vaccinating and spaying/neutering. It is heartbreaking watching animals being abandoned and dumped even more so when they are pregnant with no one to care for them. It hurts to see no one come forward when their family member has been hit by a car and instead of being responsible, they just walk away and figure someone else will take care of it. We have to come together and care. We are the “someone else” that can do something about it.

TLB has once again stepped up. This time for three little puppies that would have otherwise succumbed to Parvo. The parents were never vaccinated (mom was 7 years old and never spayed). What kind of cruel individual feels that they are providing a good home under those circumstances. The owner wouldn’t surrender the other two puppies because he/she wanted to keep them, even though it was explained by the vet that they would die without treatment.

In the New Year, we know that these 3 little angels will have a beautiful life because someone did care. They are currently receiving treatment that is being coordinated through our vet’s office. They are responding well. The road ahead is a long one, but they will live to experience a great life, filled with love. That is what is important. This is why we do what we do, and we are thankful for our wonderful supporters. Every little bit helps so that we are able to continue doing things of this magnitude.

We are working hard to help Roxy find a loving home. She came from a loving home until her moms health took a turn for the worse. Now she needs to find that forever home where someone can love and comfort her. Roxy is a 2 1/2 yr old Shiba Inu and a bit shy at first. Everything is done on her and she is ready to take that giant step. Let’s get her a forever home for Christmas!

Just when you think you’ve seen it all, you come across a sweet senior boy like Gio. He definitely hasn’t been well cared for, so doing what we do best, we brought him into rescue and he’s had quite the day with the vet. He had to be neutered and while under anesthesia, he was shaved down because his coat was disgustingly matted. This poor little guy had to have been in excruciating pain. To make matters worse, they had to remove a large cyst from the top of his head and one from his shoulder. We pray that the results come back favorable. No dog, especially a senior dog should ever have to go through this kind of ordeal! Sweet little Gio will be with a foster for a bit and then he will be looking for his forever home to live out his golden years. He deserves that.
