Dreaming of warmer days and trail riding. My fibromyalgia has been really bothering me lately making it very difficult for me to get out and ride. So I’m dreaming of warmer weather to enjoy some early morning rides. Can’t wait for spring!

Trying to get out on the trails this time of year with the cold weather is a bit difficult for me, my body does not like it. I’ve been making myself get to the barn and at least ride around the area for a little bit after Dove has a few laps of walking and trotting around the round pen. Ts not a trail but I’ll take it.

It’s been a busy time of year and haven’t been able to get out and do a good trail ride. Anyone want to ride in the desert by Tulle Springs morning of the 14th? Let our horses run up some of the little limestone hills? I know mine would love it.

Went to the Old Sawmill Trail in Lee Cayon this morning and had a beautiful ride! Maddie and I met Michelle, Keith, and Melissa at the trail head. The weather was beautiful and the trail was a lot of fun. Dove loved to get to run up the hills and then wanted to come down the steep incline side at a fast pace and I had to tell her to walk and take it easy, lol. Will probably go trail riding again in two weeks for anyone else that wants to join.

Wanting to do a trail this weekend…..not sure about maybe Lee Canyon or Boulder Mountain area or Lake Las Vegas trail. Anyone want to go and if so which one? Thinking Sunday.
Would love to get a decent group to go!

Went trail riding on the Oak Creek trail at Red Rock last weekend and boy was that a fun trail! Anyone want to go to Lee Canyon and do the Sawmill trail this weekend or next weekend(on a Saturday morning)?

Went for a trail ride on Friday just Dove and I. It was so quiet and peaceful out. Only a few joggers out and about. Such a beautiful day and so few out walking, biking, or horseback riding. Nonetheless, Dove and I enjoyed our quiet time other than many quail flocks calling and scurrying about. I hope to encourage everyone to get out and enjoy this lovely weather before the triple digits hit!!

Dove and I went on a trail ride on the 28th with my girlie and her horse Trixie, as it was a beautiful evening. Got in around 5 miles and was out 2.5 hours.

The weather has been beautiful here in Vegas! Trying to get in as much riding time as my schedule will allow. Went to a few barrel races with my kiddo and had some fun. It’s nice to switch things up from time to time. Though I want to do a nice long trail ride this weekend. Any one else want to go?

Went with our barn for a trail ride on New Year’s Day. Had fun and we had a pretty good sized group! I’d say between 20-30. It was a great day to start the new year! Went around Floyd Lamb Park (saw a Road Runner)and then myself and a friend broke off and went out in the desert for a bit. Gave Dove a much needed bath while it was still warm. With the crazy wind, haven’t been back out. Though I have it penciled in for a trail ride on Sat morning, if anyone wants to join.

Took a few days to just spend time with dove and just pamper her. Sometimes it good to just spend time with our horses instead of ride and work. They need pampering too. Also it’s great to continue to build your bond and just be present in each others company.

Today is World Mental Health Day! It’s so important that we take care of our mental health. I know for me after my third child I had PPD really bad. I was in a dark place and the it plagued me and it took me years to get through it and find ways to take care of myself mentally when it hit me. One of those things that helped me was getting back into horses. When I have a rough day at work, feeling down, or my hormones are out of wack around that time of the month…my horse Dove is my go to! Getting to spend time with her out in the open for a ride or even just grooming her helps. So I hope that everyone takes a little time for your meantal health. Whether that’s getting your nails done, a spa day, a day curled up with a book, horseback riding, or just sleeping it off and recharging as best as you can…..I hope you take a little time for yourself and take care of you and your mental health! Hugs to everyone!

It’s been so lovely lately! Enjoying the beautiful weather now that it’s somewhat cooling off! Shooting for a ride Sat morning then we have the Sunflowers and Spurs barrel race next Sunday.
