When Hot Dog got lost, her mom, Sabrina, turned to Petco Love Lost for help.

She quickly found Hot Dog’s profile on Petco Love Lost, which was created when she was impounded at The Animal Foundation as a stray after being dropped off by a Good Samaritan.

The two were reunited on New Year’s Eve, and the smiles on their faces were contagious!

Hot Dog is home, starting 2026 with her mom, all thanks to Petco Love Lost.

Maricel just wants your love. All day. Every day.

She’ll scoot right in close for snuggles and stay there—so be ready to give her lots of scratches.

This 3 year old, 40 lb girl loves treats, knows sit, walks great on a leash, and has a soft spot for squeaky toys. Chasing them is her talent. Returning them is optional. 😂

But her true passion is affection, and LOTS of it!

💉Medical note: Maricel came to us with a severe vaginal prolapse that has been reduced and greatly improved. She is already spayed and would benefit from an adopter who can provide her with a cozy, comfy home while she continues healing.

Maricel is available for adoption, and her ID # is A1397562.

Valentino wasn’t the cat people were lining up to adopt.

He was nervous. Hiding. Hissing. Trembling. Trying to bite. And he was overlooked at the shelter.

But Camila took a chance. She adopted him, brought him home, and gave him time, patience, and love.

Almost a year later? He allows pets, he lets his people sit close, and he even sleeps in her bed!

“I just wanted to share how much progress he has made and how grateful we are to have him in our family," said Camila.

A shelter pet’s behavior in a kennel isn’t who they truly are. Some just need a quieter place, time to decompress, and someone willing to believe in them.

Be their hero. Take a chance!

We’ve got a gorgeous danger noodle available for adoption! 🐍

Slytherin (because, of course) is a not-so-little guy who’s ready to find his new home. He spends his days curling up under his heat lamps and occasionally peaking his head up to check out our adoptable exotics room.

Head to the shelter when we open on Tuesday at 11 am to meet Slytherin. ID # A1403439

Buttercup is starting the new year in a foster home!

After being overlooked at the shelter for WAY too long, this girl is finally getting all the attention she deserves, and we couldn’t be happier.

Shoutout to her foster, Dany Helwink-Masters, for taking her out this weekend and helping spread the word about just how awesome Buttercup truly is. 💛

Reilly’s smushed, wrinkly face wins hearts instantly.

His manners? Not so much.

Jumping, pulling on leash, and zero gentleman vibes. He's small but strong. Basically a teenager.

Enter Bark to Basics—our public training program.

Reilly’s mom signed up, and now he’s a whole new dog! Polite. Focused. A gentleman.

And when it really mattered, the training showed up.

“Last night Reilly slipped his harness and ran off into the darkness. I called his name and said ‘Come!’ AND HE DID. Treats sealed the deal, but I was so proud. I’m incredibly grateful for Bark to Basics—thank you for teaching us both.”

Need a manners makeover for your dog? Start the new year on the right foot.
This is your sign to enroll your dog for our next set of classes.
