It has been proven decade after decade at the strongest drive a dog has and to please its owner. So with that in mind when the dog is doing what you want it to do if you look at the dog and simply praise the dog that's a good boy that's it you good girl is that not true positive reinforcement? How that turned into give your dog a treat, other animals elephants horses Dolphins killer whales the food is depositive reinforcement. But the dog is very unique I'm to itself and it's desire to please.

The definition is in the word. Positive reinforcement. Reinforce the positive behavior. It never meant give your dog a treat. Bribery is not training.

If you look at the word positive reinforcement what it says is to reinforce the positive behavior. Not give the dog a treat.
