A Home 4 Spot Animal Rescue

A Home 4 Spot Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) who rescue animals, treat, rehabilitate and re-home. Typically, our medical runs about $5,000-$10,000 a month.

A Home 4 Spot is comprised of many volunteers throughout Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas and other outlining areas that take in abused, neglected, medical needs and at risk dogs in their homes to start the rehabilitation process to heal our dogs inside out. Our objective is simple in that we treat, socialize and re-home dogs to homes that we closely evaluate making sure that each dog continu

es to thrive in their new home. We currently operate at thrift store located at 4324 N Decatur and Craig where people can donate slightly used which we are able to sell and in return gives us the ability to help more dogs. These last few years have been extremely hard for charities like ourselves and we have really seen the affects. We hate to turn any dog away and would love to save them all, so any amount whether it be $1.00 to $100.00, helps us maintain our goal to help self sustain our costs and eventually grow our rescue to its biggest potential possible. More times than not, we will help a family who simply cannot afford medical treatment on a dog but without donations, we are not able to continue helping those in need. Our rescue provides training, medical care to our dogs, and education to the public. Our training just doesn't involve the dogs, but the humans associated with the dogs. If we can help an owner find a solution to keep their pet and it is in the best interest for the pet to stay with the owner, then we work closely with these individuals and formulate plans to achieve this. Sometimes it is just as simple as the food they eat and sometimes it involves dog trainers to work closely with the dogs to encourage socialization, acceptable behavior in public and the home. Each volunteer that we accept into A Home 4 Spot is given an application to fill out on our website- www.ahome4spot.com and is required to receive periodic home checks as well as each volunteer must agree to transport the animal to the vet care facility as needed and attend at least two adoption events a month. If for some reason this is not able to happen, we have other volunteers that can help with transport and handle the dog during the events. The goal is to provide a safe, warm home with lots of love to reverse the dog’s outlook on life. most weekends we hold events, mostly at Petsmart - 2140 N Rainbow and Lake Mead, but on occasion we are invited to different establishments that support our work and just want to give us extra exposure. None of our foster parents are paid, however we do provide food and the basic care items for our dogs so volunteers have the tools to successfully care for the placed dog in their home. Because we are a non-profit, we rely on fundraising and charity donations to help us with the biggest expense, our medical. We provide all the shots, microchip, and the spay or neuter plus any additional treatment needed. Our typical adoption fees range from $300 upward to $600.00. This really just depends on the dog's medical needs, the age of the dog, the training needed and of course the breed of the dog. When we reference breed of the dog, it is simply because we encourage people to understand that certain dogs are extremely high maintenance and require more than just routine care so an increase in the adoption cost gives us somewhat of a guideline that this family could afford the needs of the dog with less chance of a return or a "dump". Every family considering adopting a dog goes through a complete thorough process. It begins with a search on our site or other related sites such as Petfinder or Adopt-a-Pet or maybe they have seen one of our dogs at an event or a blast on social media. They can inquire many ways. One would be via email, another by phone, by filling out an interest applications on our website and lastly they can also attend our events to meet and greet the dog they are drawn too. We have a very thorough application process that includes a rather lengthy questionnaire, a thorough home check and sometimes several visits and/or play dates. We are in absolutely no hurry to ever place any of our dogs, in fact we believe that finding the right fit for all parties concerned might take more than just a meet and greet and home check. Because of this, our return rate is extremely lower than per say establishments such as kill shelters. Our volunteers are trained and given the right tools to help them determine whether or not the home is the perfect match. Even though our efforts are valiant in this process, we still receive from time to time dogs back into the rescue and we are proud to say that we keep the commitment to the families we adopt out too as well as continue our relationship with them forever.

Meet Butch! He is estimated around 3 years old and has been fully vetted. He loves his toys and is super affectionate. He is good with dogs, cats and people of all ages. He is crate trained and has been mastering his potty training skills. He is currently in our pups on parole program and will be ready for adoption once he has completed the program. Meet Honey 🍯

Hellooo! My name is Honey, like a honey bee. I am a 2 year old Boxer mix. I can be quite an attention seeker. I love to have your attention and the spotlight of the room. If you must know, I’m very stubborn and hard-headed! You can see it in my face. But compliments or even a small treat would help me come out of that. I love to play ball and with fellow dogs, but sometimes I can be a little ruff. Just tell me to “be easy” and I’ll calm down. I’m very nosy and can’t help but to sniff around – maybe even get into or chew on things. I promise I’ll try my best, just tell me “no” and I’ll listen. My favorite thing besides a ball…is food. My birthday is 02/14/2022 . I am current on vaccines and im getting neutered on 1/29/25. I love to run and play but I am very cautious with other dogs until i get to know them. I'm generally a very good boy! All the girls say I'm so sweet. I like to take the lead on walks (pulls) but with a little direction, I'll learn quickly . ⁶Im potty trained. Meet Luke! Luke is a playful and gentle 2 year old chihuahua terrier mix. He loves to play but also loves to cuddle and rest next to his human. He loves to play with kids and dogs of all sizes! He is a sweetheart by nature full of love and affection, despite having major surgery when he was a puppy on his right eye to fix a bulging eye socket, he healed right up with no issues, sees perfectly fine. Dog of the Day: Meet Cosmo 🩵

Dear sweet little Cosmo is rather confused. He has bonded well with his foster, but is insecure when additional people enter his world. Cosmo needs to be in a loving furever home without any more major life changes. He is a one year old chihweenie and is working hard at potty training. Cosmo finds security in his crate when he can't be cuddled in a blanket on your lap. He has many discoveries yet to experience as he is unsure about his reflection and shadows. Cosmo loves to play and would do well in a quiet home with lots of love and patience showered on him. This cute little guy will return your love a hundred times over. Foster or adopter needed for Pocky, a 1 year old miniature Poodle mix that weighs around 26 lbs.
Pocky was initially saved from a local overcrowded shelter where he was scared and shut down. After being out of the shelter environment a few days, he has warmed up quickly and has a lot of love to give. He seems potty trained and does not react to other dogs nearby. Pocky needs a foster or forever and would thrive in a home environment. If you’re interested in fostering please fill out a foster app.

Our sweet Bluey needs a medical foster to help him through his amputation recovery! He is wonderful with dogs of all sizes and loves kids. He gets overly excited when he sees cats and has a hard time calming down. Staying calm and relaxed post surgery is paramount to a successful recovery. Bluey is very strong despite having his injury so somebody with a very secure yard and home is a requirement. Ideally somebody that is working from home or home most of the day would be the perfect fit for him. Bluey is wonderful in his current foster home, but they do have a cat and he is constantly agitated and having a hard time because he knows there’s a cat in the house. Bluey will need a couple weeks of crate rest while he recovers from surgery, we do not anticipate him having any issues getting around on three legs as he already doesn’t use the affected arm that is broken. Bluey is a 1 yr old Pointer mix that weighs 53 lbs.

Meet Bailey! This adorable puppy had a challenging beginning, but she has made remarkable progress since joining her foster family! Bailey is a bit shy and may take some time to feel comfortable, but once she does, she reveals her incredibly sweet, playful, and cuddly nature. A calm home without children and a small furry companion would be ideal for her. She enjoys chasing her 14-pound foster brother and mimics his every move. Bailey is fully potty trained and signals when she needs to go outside by barking. She responds promptly when called and has a great time playing fetch. Bailey is under a year and weighs only 8 lbs. Due to her size and timid nature, a home without small kids, another doggy friend close to her size and a very secure yard will be required.

Dog of the Day: Meet Dolly!

This sweet, feisty little girl is full of personality, and though she loves people of all kinds, she’s a bit picky when it comes to her doggy friends. Dolly prefers small, gentle dogs and tends to shy away from larger or high-energy dogs. She’s also great with calm, kind kids. At about 6-8 years old and weighing just 5 lbs, Dolly is an absolute cutie pie. She is working on her house training and leash walking skills.

Meet Spidey, a sweet 7 month old Chiweenie just seeking some love. He’ll fit right into your home!

Meet the handsome Leo! Leo is a beagle mix breed, approx 5 -6 years old. Prob weighs about 30 lbs. He appears to be very smart, will sit on command, is potty trained, sits by the door and he is let out to do is business. Leo loves running and I have seen the zoomies. He does jump when he is excited, and will bark when he sees someone in the yard. Needs a home to let him run off his energy and prob no small children. Foster needed TODAY for Miracle! This beautiful Lab / Dane mama of 12 was severely neglected and emaciated when we pulled her from certain death at a high kill shelter in California. Unfortunately she developed an infection and is needing to be on antibiotics and her weight monitored until she is healthy enough to be spayed. We are looking for a committed foster to help her gain back her health and confidence, someone who is retired or works from home would be ideal. Miracle has most likely been an outside dog her entire life and is adjusting to living indoors. She just loves people and children and was a fantastic gentle mama to her babies and has displayed no reactivity to other dogs. We will do a proper dog introduction to anyone who has a current dog and is willing to foster to ensure it’s a good fit. He’s been in and out of the vets office non stop during his short life. Our bill is now over $3,000 and we are far from out of the woods. He only weighs 1.3 lbs and his poor body has been thru so much in his short life first being diagnosed with 3 life threatening parasites then eye ulcers and now needing blood transfusions, we will not give up on him but we need your help and a miracle to save his life! This sweet girl was found wandering in the desert near Floyd Lamb park. She was lost, hungry, and dehydrated. She has become very affectionate and has the cutest smile ever. She is very small maybe 30/35lbs. After a few baths she is feeling much better. We are working on her feet as they were damaged from being out there for so long. She is working on her social skills but undersandibly a little cautious and protective so for now she should be on her own. We think she is 3 to 4 years old.
