A Home 4 Spot Animal Rescue

A Home 4 Spot Animal Rescue A Home 4 Spot Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) who rescue animals, treat, rehabilitate and re-home. Typically, our medical runs about $5,000-$10,000 a month.

A Home 4 Spot is comprised of many volunteers throughout Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas and other outlining areas that take in abused, neglected, medical needs and at risk dogs in their homes to start the rehabilitation process to heal our dogs inside out. Our objective is simple in that we treat, socialize and re-home dogs to homes that we closely evaluate making sure that each dog continu

es to thrive in their new home. We currently operate at thrift store located at 4324 N Decatur and Craig where people can donate slightly used which we are able to sell and in return gives us the ability to help more dogs. These last few years have been extremely hard for charities like ourselves and we have really seen the affects. We hate to turn any dog away and would love to save them all, so any amount whether it be $1.00 to $100.00, helps us maintain our goal to help self sustain our costs and eventually grow our rescue to its biggest potential possible. More times than not, we will help a family who simply cannot afford medical treatment on a dog but without donations, we are not able to continue helping those in need. Our rescue provides training, medical care to our dogs, and education to the public. Our training just doesn't involve the dogs, but the humans associated with the dogs. If we can help an owner find a solution to keep their pet and it is in the best interest for the pet to stay with the owner, then we work closely with these individuals and formulate plans to achieve this. Sometimes it is just as simple as the food they eat and sometimes it involves dog trainers to work closely with the dogs to encourage socialization, acceptable behavior in public and the home. Each volunteer that we accept into A Home 4 Spot is given an application to fill out on our website- www.ahome4spot.com and is required to receive periodic home checks as well as each volunteer must agree to transport the animal to the vet care facility as needed and attend at least two adoption events a month. If for some reason this is not able to happen, we have other volunteers that can help with transport and handle the dog during the events. The goal is to provide a safe, warm home with lots of love to reverse the dog’s outlook on life. most weekends we hold events, mostly at Petsmart - 2140 N Rainbow and Lake Mead, but on occasion we are invited to different establishments that support our work and just want to give us extra exposure. None of our foster parents are paid, however we do provide food and the basic care items for our dogs so volunteers have the tools to successfully care for the placed dog in their home. Because we are a non-profit, we rely on fundraising and charity donations to help us with the biggest expense, our medical. We provide all the shots, microchip, and the spay or neuter plus any additional treatment needed. Our typical adoption fees range from $300 upward to $600.00. This really just depends on the dog's medical needs, the age of the dog, the training needed and of course the breed of the dog. When we reference breed of the dog, it is simply because we encourage people to understand that certain dogs are extremely high maintenance and require more than just routine care so an increase in the adoption cost gives us somewhat of a guideline that this family could afford the needs of the dog with less chance of a return or a "dump". Every family considering adopting a dog goes through a complete thorough process. It begins with a search on our site or other related sites such as Petfinder or Adopt-a-Pet or maybe they have seen one of our dogs at an event or a blast on social media. They can inquire many ways. One would be via email, another by phone, by filling out an interest applications on our website and lastly they can also attend our events to meet and greet the dog they are drawn too. We have a very thorough application process that includes a rather lengthy questionnaire, a thorough home check and sometimes several visits and/or play dates. We are in absolutely no hurry to ever place any of our dogs, in fact we believe that finding the right fit for all parties concerned might take more than just a meet and greet and home check. Because of this, our return rate is extremely lower than per say establishments such as kill shelters. Our volunteers are trained and given the right tools to help them determine whether or not the home is the perfect match. Even though our efforts are valiant in this process, we still receive from time to time dogs back into the rescue and we are proud to say that we keep the commitment to the families we adopt out too as well as continue our relationship with them forever.

Meet Gigi and Bella, two sweet French bulldogs looking for their forever home(s)! They are both around 3-4 years old and were rescued from a backyard breeder.

Those two are all about their humans. While they’ll occasionally grab a toy, their favorite is just being near you. Gigi (gray )and Bella (fawn) adore people, though their enthusiasm might knock you off your feet (literally) if you’re not ready for their affectionate greetings. Both girls are good with other dogs and currently live with a cat. They learn quickly and are food-motivated (as you can tell.)

Gigi demands attention in the cutest way and is happiest curled under your desk, keeping you company while you work. If you are not available, she might find a tight space to nap or snuggle with Bella.
Bella is also always close by your side. She’s a little sensitive and can freeze when startled, but she warms up quickly with a bit of assurance. She enjoys playing fetch with tiny plushies.

They can be adopted together or separately. If you're interested please fill out an application on our website.

SHADOW is ready for the holidays and all this cuddly 2 year old sweetheart wants for Christmas is a family of her own finally!

Shadow does not mind living with cats and is very mellow and easygoing for her age. She does not need a large yard or tons of exercise, she prefers lounging on the couch with you chewing on bones and going on leisurely walks around the neighborhood.

Shadow is well mannered and non destructive inside the house and has no separation anxiety when left alone. She may get the zoomies once in a while and even play with toys if you get her going but her rare bursts of energy are mostly contained to getting excited and even jumping up once when her favorite human comes home from work and when it's time to eat. Shadow loooves food, she ll do tricks for just kibble and anything for treats.

Shadow loves dog friendly kids! She can be a little scared of new adult people and need a minute to warm up sometimes but nice kids, she’ll love right away.

Shadow knows Sit and Down and Wait and Stay and a few other tricks like Spin and Shake and Touch. Shadow’s favorite activity besides napping and eating is chewing on bones and kongs and work on food puzzles, she is Extremely food motivated.

Shadow is a little shy at first when meeting new people, she may even bark at strangers because she’s worried about them, but it just takes a few minutes and some treats to become her new best friend. She also gets scared at busy or new places, like at the groomer’s or the vet’s but will allow all handling and relax with some treats. Food and treats, always the way to this girl’s heart.

Shadow would do well being the only dog in the home but has lived with other dogs in foster care and done very well also, she prefers males usually but it depends. Meet and greets are required if she were to live with another dog. Shadow has enjoyed playing and running around with some of her foster siblings but not gotten along with others. As long as the other dogs are well balanced and easy going also and don’t try to take her food or chews away. Feeding separately is absolutely necessary as well as being separated for chew/treat times.

Currently Shadow is living with a cat in her foster home with no issues, they hang out together peacefully. She also goes to the dog park when it’s not super crowded and has made many doggie friends she plays with nicely.

Shadow is a 2 year old Akita mix, about 70 pounds, spayed, chipped and UTD on all shots. Please contact foster for any other questions at (714) 224-9432 and fill out an application on our website.

Meadow is a dream girl. She has 2 favorite things, going for a walk at the park every morning where she can see all her dog friends and beg for treats, and then take a long nap after breakfast. She is friendly to everyone, although a bit reserved around humans until she knows them. She does her business outside as long as someone is available to open the door for her or has a doggy door for her to use. She does not guard or beg for food and doesn’t have an interest in chewing or playing with toys. Her best days consist of a long morning walk, breakfast and napping near her humans followed by dinner and a relaxing evening. At night she prefers sleeping on the owners bed with a blanket over her. She “self swaddles” 😂. The only times she barks in the house are in the morning when she is expressing her excitement at going to the park, or if someone is at the door. Outside, she will occasionally bark at the neighbors to let them know she’s in the job. Within a few hours of meeting her, she will roll onto her back and delight in belly rubs… definitely her favorite thing!

Dog of the Day: Meet Ivy

Now accepting Foster to Adopt applications for the beautiful Ivy!

Ivy is estimated to be around 11 weeks old and is a female Golden Retriever / Black Lab mix. She will be a large breed dog estimated at about 70lbs when fully grown. Ivy is very lovable and social. She loves playing with big dogs and small dogs. She gets along with cats and kids too! She listens very well and is about 75% p*e pad trained. Fosters applying for Ivy MUST adhere to the “No Paws on Ground” rule. This applies to any puppy under the age of 16 weeks old. Foxy is two years and already a mom of at a very young age. She is a 12lbs long haired chihuahua maybe Pomeranian mix. She is the sweetest.

She is timid and shy at first and can be a little skittish but has warmed up to her foster home well. She’s made herself very comfortable hopping up on the couch for attention when she needs a break from her babies. She demands head scratches, belly rubs and lots of attention. She is busy body and needs to monitor the activity that takes place outside the glass patio doors when her foster mom is at work. Occasionally she likes to be picked up and carried around the house while listening to Adele. But we understand that may be an interesting request. She also loves to play! She has had a rough start to life being used for breeding but is getting used to being loved by her humans. It doesn’t matter if you leave her for 5 min or 5 hours she sure knows how to make someone feel loved with her zoomie greetings. She is about 95% p*e pad trained and learning some leash manners. She’s very excited for the life ahead of her and taking in a lot of new sites and sounds so she will need someone who has a little patience with her while she adjusts to her new surroundings.

Dash is a sweet and spirited 2-year-old Australian Yorkshire Terrier mix weighing about 12 pounds. Rescued from the streets of Skye Canyon, this little guy may be a bit shy at first, but his loving and playful nature quickly shines through. Dash is crate-trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and is eager to please, making him an excellent hiking companion or walking buddy. He has plenty of energy for adventures and gets along wonderfully with other small dogs. He's happy to fetch or play with his humans and loves being chased by other dogs at the dog park. He needs a very active home that is able to take him on 2-3 walks a day; he also seems to have some trauma related to men and will need a patient and understanding home that is willing to work with him. A home with a very secure yard and gate is required.

If you are interested in meeting Dash, please fill out an adoption interest form on our website, and the foster will get back to you shortly. Adoption fees and home checks apply.

This sweet girl was found wandering in the desert near Floyd Lamb park. She was lost, hungry, and dehydrated. She has become very affectionate and has the cutest smile ever. She is very small maybe 30/35lbs. After a few baths she is feeling much better. We are working on her feet as they were damaged from being out there for so long. She is working on her social skills but undersandibly a little cautious and protective so for now she should be on her own. We think she is 3 to 4 years old. More details to come as we get to know her better♥️

If you’re interested in fostering this sweet girl, please fill out a foster application on our website. For now a home with no other dogs would be ideal while she has time to decompress.

Dog of the Day: Meet Murphy

Meet Murphy! Murphy’s mama is a Great Dane and Lab mix so we estimate him to be a large doggy when fully grown. He is currently 11 weeks old and just under 20 lbs. Murphy is a total sweetheart that loves to play with his brother and toys. He has lots of energy but can snuggle and chill when he’s ready to relax. He has mastered the doggie door and potties outside most of the time. He’s ready for his forever home where he can run and spend time outdoors. Murphy would do best in a home with another playful dog to match his energy and help teach him the ropes. If you are interested in meeting Murphy, please fill out an adoption interest form on our website and the foster will get back to you shortly. Adoption fees and home checks apply.

Meet Nico! This adorable chunky puppy is a 10 week old male Border Collie mix. Nico has the most beautiful fluffy brindle colored coat with all the markings of a border collie on his chest. True to the breed, Nico is extremely intelligent and has already mastered the doggie door with almost no accidents inside. He gets along with dogs, cats and kids but due to his sharp puppy teeth, kids older than 8 are recommended. Nico’s should be adopted into an active home with another friendly, social dog. Border collie breed experience is required. No apartments please.

Miracle is a sweet young energetic girl who loves to run and play. She's good with small dogs but plays rough so larger sturdy dogs are recommended as playmates for her. She has recovered so well after being a mama to her babies and is almost at back to her ideal weight. She has the energy of 3 dogs and would make a great running or hiking buddy. She kennels well and is well behaved. She is fed separately as she was starving when she came into foster and so is a bit protective of her meal times. Everything else she shares nicely. She loves every human she meets so far. If you're interested in giving this amazing girl a second chance at forever please fill out an adoption interest form on our website.,

Foster or Forever needed!

Trixie is a 2 year old, spayed female Frenchie and weighs about 26 lbs. She is a typical Frenchie: frisky, goofy, sweet and stubborn. She is good with dogs and unknown with cats. She is very active and loves to play with her foster brother and toys and loves a good cuddly nap on the couch after playing. Trixie has come a long way to learn how to live in a house and learn a routine! She is about 90% potty trained and does especially well with a routine that allows her to go outside regularly. Trixie is 100% crate trained and doesn't go potty in her crate. She doesn't bark in her crate and sleeps in it comfortably overnight. She rides well in a car and walks well on a leash. Trixie would continue to thrive in another home with an active dog to play with and to continue to show her the routine. If you're interested in fostering or adopting please fill out an application on our website,
