pecan has a lot to say!

She’s doing great and even had an appetite this morning 🎊 I do think we are over the worst part of this horrible virus 🙏🏻
I still need to wear protective gear, as she is still contagious for a few more weeks. Her secretions, from her eyes, nose, mouth and 💩 area can still carry the contagious virus: feline panleukopenia 🦠
I know she looks lonely, but I do spend a lot of time with her. Unfortunately, there’s no way to partner her with other kittens while she’s contagious 🥺
Thank you for all your good thoughts and prayers to help her recover from this🙏🏻

Pecan is still fighting 💪🏻
Her energy level is great, she’s still having yucky 💩 and no appetite🥺 i’m for feeding KMR kitten milk every few hours.
Is there still a chance she might pass away? I don’t know. This virus makes no sense on who it chooses to take 💔
I’m cautiously hopeful.
If she improves in the next day or two, we might be more certain she’ll get through this. Please continue to send good thoughts and prayers for her recovery ❤️‍🩹

I wasn’t sure to post this or not, I don’t want to give false hope. She has mild symptoms and seems to be doing OK. That can all change within hours 🥺
Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers to get over this virus 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Northstar has a slight upper respiratory infection going on, as well as an eye infection🥺
We’re treating him with antibiotics, as well as antibiotic eye cream. Please don’t worry. this is very common, especially when kittens have compromised immunity.
His energy levels are good, so is his appetite. I’m hoping he’ll be clear of this in a week or so.

The 5 remaining kittens from Mama Peaches are doing ok this morning.
Unfortunately, feline panleukopenia can kill in just a few hours 😔 things change quickly.

We made the decision to vaccinate them, even though they’re under a pound. Kittens can still pass after they’ve been vaccinated, so it’s not a cure all. It will hopefully give a better chance for them to fight this off 💪🏻
Thank you for your kind messages and comments. I do read them, though I may not be able to acknowledge or reply right now. It does help me feel supported and I’m grateful.

Just three hours ago he was acting like a normal kitten. That’s how swift this virus is 😔 no signs of any symptoms. He’s just gone ❤️‍🩹

Figgy Fudge is gone 💔
I can’t believe this is. She was doing so well this afternoon. Feline Panleukopenia is a horrible virus that takes them so quickly. ❤️‍🩹

I recently learned kittens had died in the home, only after I had picked up everyone 😔 A large number of adults passed away last week. Unfortunately, cats that are living outside don’t have opportunities to be vaccinated. These kittens didn’t stand a chance 🥺
Rest easy now figgy, Mama Peaches will be waiting for you😔

North Star wants everyone to know he’s doing great💯
This little survivor is kicking butt. Yes, he’s very loud and a big personality. He loves to sit on my shoulder like a parrot 🦜

At six weeks old, he just hit the 1 pound mark. We were able to vaccinate him today.🥳 kittens must be at least a pound. I’m so excited he’s thriving and doing so well.

Good morning! The kittens turned 4 weeks old yesterday🥳
Yes, we have some crusty eyes, but those are easily treated and will be fine. I took the video right when they woke up, and then treated them with eye medication.
Thank you everyone for reaching out regarding mama peaches. She’s in the Animal Hospital ICU being treated for feline panleukopenia 🥺 I don’t have an update on her status.
are the kittens infected? My vet believes it’s a high probability. They’re showing no symptoms at this time. They might have antibodies from mamas milk, we just don’t know.
I wish I had more answers to all the questions. There’s so much They don’t know about this virus. Up until a few years ago, shelters/rescue groups would just euthanize. That’s how deadly and contagious it is!
Please send good thoughts and prayers for these babies 🙏🏻

How is this happening ❓‼️
Mama Peaches started to get very sick yesterday, throwing up yellow liquid (bile) and no energy.
Went to the vet first thing this morning, where they first tested her for feline panleukopenia. She’s a strong positive 💔💔
She was admitted to the hospital 🏥 The doctor thought she had a good chance based on her being an adult and her size. I’m trying to hope for the best, but reality tells me to expect the worst
This means all 7 of her kittens have it😔
My heart can’t take this….
for now, they are healthy and active, but that can change within hours. They are bottlefeeding every 4 hrs. I’m stimulating them over a litter box, and will move to a different room this evening.
Their chances of surviving are very slim❤️‍🩹

Mama peaches and her kittens came from the same home as the 11 other kittens. I was told she wasn’t in the same room as they were. however, this virus is very contagious!

Truffles is gone 💔
this was the video on our way to the vet.
Two days ago, full of hope that he would survive ❤️‍🩹

Everyone thought there was a chance. I told them to do everything they can to save him🙏🏻

I don’t have many details. They started him on IV fluids, stronger antibiotics, ran bloodwork and had to perform a blood transfusion. This morning he crashed and they couldn’t save him ❤️‍🩹

I’m still in shock. Northstar is the only survivor out of 11 kittens. How he got through this, I don’t know 💪🏻🙏🏻

I’m not sure how much Truffles bill will be, but it will be large. I’ll have more specifics in a few days. If anyone would like to help, please consider making a donation.
