At Furever Nevada Senior Dog Sanctuary, we’re privileged to care for some incredible pitbulls—breeds that sadly are often the most neglected and mistreated. Many pitbulls end up in shelters where they face a high risk of euthanasia, but here at Furever Nevada, we’re dedicated to changing their fate.

Our pitbulls are wonderful with other dogs, kids, and families, each one with a unique story of resilience and love. 🚩‼️🚨🆘️URGENT HERCULES HAS A COMMITMENT DATE OF 7/12/2024 AT 3 PM🆘️🚨‼️🚩

Hercules ID # A1325071 is seeking a loving family, who will bring him to a healthy weight and handle his ear infection. Hercules is sweetvand lives to meet people. He did run and bark when a child ran past the play yard. He is an owner surrender. The previous owner stated he loved meeting all people, but would bark and beco.e anxious if he was in a separate room from the people. He was reactive to dogs passing, but it seemed to be more of a "Stop let me meet you" reactiveness. He lived with another big dog, female. He loves the kiddie pool and loves to cool off in it. Previous owner is renting woth a roommate who is allergic, there fore kept in a bedroom. He also stated that he did not have the finances to keep treating his ear infection. When Hercules wasn't cooling off in the pool, he wanted to hang at my side. He also loved chasing a ball and a stuffed toy, he wasn't into bringing either back 🤣. Hercules was pretty easy to handle. He is estimated to be about 8 years old, he weighs 98 lbs and came to the shelter on 6/20/2024.

🚨 Emergency Fundraiser for Aigu 🚨

We urgently need your help for Aigu, a sweet senior we rescued from euthanasia. Found as a stray, no one came for him 🥺💔 but thanks to a compassionate foster who stepped up, we were able to save him. Now, we need to fulfill our promise to provide the medical care he desperately needs.

Aigu arrived with several health issues, including a large cystic tumor on his side, chronic ear infections, and severe dental disease. While his ears are healing and dental care is underway, our most pressing challenge is funding the removal of his tumor to prevent any potential progression to cancer.

Aigu has shown remarkable resilience and sweetness in his foster home, proving every day that he deserves a chance at a loving, permanent home in his golden years.

Please, if you can, donate a few dollars to help Aigu. Every penny will go towards his surgery and recovery.

🌈 Fundraiser: In Loving Memory of Reese 💔🌈

Today, we honor Reese, a courageous senior pitbull whose journey with us was both heartbreakingly brief and incredibly profound. Rescued from the brink of euthanasia, Reese arrived in our care skinny and limping, bearing the invisible scars of a life filled with challenges. Soon after, we discovered he was battling inoperable cancer in his back leg, a fight that foretold a limited time with us.

In the two weeks Reese was part of our sanctuary, we made every moment count. Our mission was clear: ensure he knew nothing but comfort, love, and the warmth of human kindness—luxuries he may not have known before. No dog, especially in their final chapters, deserves to face the end in the loneliness of a shelter.

Reese's passing was peaceful, filled with gentle words and tender touches, a dignified farewell that every creature deserves. 🕊️ His legacy reinforces our commitment to rescue, provide for, and cherish every senior dog, helping them to cross the rainbow bridge surrounded by love instead of solitude.

Furever Nevada Foundation was founded by Andrew, a passionate dog advocate who has witnessed firsthand the experience of senior dogs in shelter environments.

Senior shelter dogs (even the perfectly healthy ones) face a harsh reality. Not only are they overlooked for adoption, they can also be put down for a number of reasons, including lack of space and medical expenses that strain the resources of local shelters. In turn, their final moments are spent feeling scared and unsure in an often emotionless environment.

Andrew launched the Furever Nevada Foundation to give senior dogs a chance to live out their days in a home filled with love and dignity. Through his continued volunteer work, Andrew is inspired by the gratitude senior dogs show when they discover a new quality of life with humans who truly cherish them.
