Xtraordinary Parrotlets With over 20 years of avian experience, our blood lines are strong. Every bird is given hands on love and care A little about us and our babies.
(15)

The importation of parrotlets stopped in the 90's. That is why we do DNA and genetic testing on all our breeding birds. With the gene pool not being plentiful, testing is very important. Proper cage enrichment, healthy diet, and genetic testing are always done before any bird is breed. The strongest blood lines for us can have no inbreeding nor genetic defects. Some breeders will breed the same bl

ood line to each other, or generation after generation of mutation being breed together. We are not passing judgment on any other breeder, simply this is not how we do it. We Do Not now, nor will we ever unless given scientific proof it produces strong healthy birds. Any bird we have purchased that has not made the cut, became our forever bird and will not be breed. We do not sell our retired birds, we are their forever home. With the exception of a few whom family members love and are now their forever home. Green is the natural color in the wild and all other colors are mutations. Some color mutations can take years and many generations to achieve. There are many factors and steps to getting a strong healthy mutation. Not just genetics but also cross breeding back natural green to ensure the mutations remain strong. We have generations of over 20 years, with strong and healthy blood lines. We take every known precaution to do our best. Research and learning has changed over the years and we definitely take pride in doing both. We hand feed and work on training, socialize, and handle every bird daily. We keep the birds 1-2 weeks after weaning to monitor eating and weight. Every bird is given a seed and pellet blend, fresh fruits and vegetables. We know there are parrotlet breeders out there with lower and higher prices, mutations we may or may have and we respect you have choices. Thank you for choosing us.

Luckily it’s not all bad news, you can use those sunflower seeds and turn them into super food! You can plant them and grow your own micro greens which are safe for your bird and a lot more healthy!

Are you still feeding sunflower seeds?

If you haven’t seen any of our other posts about the dangers of feeding a poor diet consisting out of sunflower seeds then this post is for you!

Sunflower seeds are extremely high in fat and can cause liver problems etc. The shells of the sunflower seeds sold/targeted towards birds in shops can also contain harmful fungi which can lead to serious health problems or death of your pet parrot.

Luckily it’s not all bad news, you can use those sunflower seeds and turn them into super food! You can plant them and grow your own micro greens which are safe for your bird and a lot more healthy!

This way you can include sunflower seeds in your parrots diet conversion and provide your pet parrot with a much better diet!
