When life can get very stressful, there are certain known practices you can do to calm your mind down and relax.
The main way and most known is the practice of Meditation.
Using mindfulness, an individual can focus their mind on an object, activity, or thought. Meditation can train attention and awareness along with relaxing an individual. Practicing meditation for as little as 10 minutes a day can increase the alpha waves of your brain, and decrease anxiety, depression, and other mental disorders an individual can go through.
Famous celebrities and athletes like Paul Mccartney, Lebron James, Will Smith and Katy Perry practice meditation everyday. Paul Mccartney once said: βIn moments of madness, meditation has helped me find moments of serenity β and I would like to think that it would help provide young people a quiet haven in a not-so-quiet world. It was a great gift that Maharishi gave us.β
Steps on how to meditate:
Take a seat
Set a time limit
Close your eyes, notice your body and breathing
Be kind to your mind and clear your mind.
(putting on calming music can help the effects of your meditation)
Clear away the chatter of your mind with meditation!
