Miss MacKenzie was so excited to help pass out food and Nutri-berries this morning to her friends!
💙 MacKenzie is shy, but once she warms up to you she will be the most amazing cuddle bug. She has one of the largest vocabularies of any macaw! She is definitely a diamond 💎 ✨️ in the rough.

Only three days into the new year, and our medical expenses are already accumulating. Lyla, a sweet Canary Winged Parakeet, came to us with an old eye injury that left her eye depressed into her face and unusable. Recently, it has been causing her significant discomfort. Following today's surgery to remove the damaged eye, Lyla is expected to make a complete recovery and feel much better. Lyla has already secured a forever home with her foster family, who adore her, but her medical expenses are just one of the many major medical costs we incur annually. Our ability to help the many birds in SWEAR is only due to the generous donations we receive every year. Please consider helping to offset Lyla’s expenses by making a donation for her and all the other birds that are sure too need our help in this new year.
People are already clamoring for a donate button but unfortunately we are unable to add one for this post (we're working on it!). Donations can be made directly on our website www.swearlv.org or use our Venmo or Zelle QR codes that have been added to the photos on this post.

As another insane year winds to its end, I wanted to do a quick post & thank everyone who has volunteered, donated, shopped, fostered & adopted.
To the people who took time out of their lives & schedules to help with events, and caring for birds and just in general propping us up:
Thank you.
Such small words, for such a huge feeling. Words aren't enough.
This year has been one of the hardest to date, for many reasons. I won't get into all of it, but to the ones who have listened to me vent, rant, cry, and fall apart repeatedly, it's been huge. Your support has meant the world to me, to us, to the birds of SWEAR that we all love.
Thank you again, and hopefully this next year won't be quite such a test!!!

Grooming today at Pretty Paws Pet Grooming had a Christmas surprise! Thank you to whoever donated the bag of Harrison's Bird Foods to the SWEAR birds.
Proper nutrition is a key foundation to how we care for our birds and Harrison's is one of our favorite picks! We appreciate you making the holidays more joyful for the rescue birds.

Rise and shine! It's breakfast time!
Razzle loved saying "Good morning" to all her friends and handing out treats. Coco was also so sweet to give a neck massage. If you never had a cockatoo massage - try it! The best part is always the element of surprise.
