‼️‼️‼️‼️LONG POST ALERT‼️‼️‼️‼️
I have a couple of announcements I would like to go over….first a little bit about me, I am mother 1st and foremost with 2 boys ages 5 and 6! My husband is an OTR truck driver who is gone most of the time! With that being said I am a solo parent 90% of time managing both our companies, taking care of our kids and working….all doing it by myself which is why I have the hours and policies set for my business, to allow me to have some sort of balance with family and work, so here we go!
💛1. MY FAMILY, my kids are my world and they will always come 1st!! I know there have been complaints about being closed for so many snow days and why I was open on some and not others! My policy is I close when Lathrop closes, yes there are some exceptions meaning if I have someone watching my kids then I will work! I have a 5yo and 6yo, they CANNOT be left alone all day! If my husband is home and can watch them I will work, or if Skyla (the other groomer for those who don’t know who she is) is working I will be open! I will always reach out to reschedule if I am not able to work!
💛2.MY HOURS….these are my hours that I chose to set because it’s MY business!
Mondays- 9:00-2:00 closer every other Monday
Tuesday-Friday 8:30-4;00
I don’t open until 8:30 why? I am busy in the morning getting kiddos off to school and prepping shop!
I close at 3:15 why? I have to pick up my 5yo at 3:30 from school!
Please respect these hours! I have always been more than accommodating and flexible to the every now and then occasions meeting you early or staying a little later! I CANNOT do this anymore it has been badly taken adavantage too much! And you know the response I get when I tell someone my hours….
“Well you just live next door”, “well I have to be work at a certain time”, “can’t you just wait 10 more minutes for me to pick up” “why can’t you work Saturdays to be more accommodating?”
It does not matter whether I live 5 seconds or 50 minutes from my shop, nor is it my responsibility to come in early because you need to drop off your dogs 1 hr early or stay late because it’s easier for you!
🐾Please don’t hesitate to ask if there is a possible schedule conflict or if something comes up and you’re running late I understand life happens just don’t expect! I think this is the biggest thing with this post is I’m expected to bend to everyone else’s life and schedule🐾
💛3. SCHEDULING, I know everyone wants their dog done the day they call, I simply cannot do that! I am usually 1-2 weeks! If i say I am booked a certain day I am booked! On days Skyla is here we do anywhere from 10-16 dogs depending on the day, and the other days I’m here by myself doing 8-10 with my 5yo home half the day until 12:30 when I take him to school! Please be patient!
💛4. BE RESPECTFUL, I know I can be rough around the edges at times, I am so driven and work oriented I can come off harsh at times! I love my job and I love grooming! But please be respectful of my shop, hours and policies! I always do my best to accomadte everyone and will continue to do so as best I can!
I am thankful for each and everyone of you and your support of my small local business! 🐾❤️
