Pets & Pals Pets&Pals is a nonprofit adoption center dedicated to the welfare and humane treatment of animals This is not your typical shelter.

We sit on a few acres of landscaped, manicured land that houses state of the art dog kennels that are complete with heated floors. Dogs can choose to be on the inside or outside sections of their large, open kennels. There are four play yards that our guests enjoy on a daily basis (two of which even have pools!), and the dogs are treated with attention, chew toys, blankets, and treats. Their runs

are always kept as clean as possible. Our feline residents enjoy a "kitten room" for the rambunctious babies, and large indoor/outdoor cat houses that have heating and air for our "older" kitties. We are open by appointment if you see something you like.

Sadie is still here!!😔

Sadie has been at our shelter for 531 DAYS…
She was found as a stray in Stockton and was brought to us so we can help her find her forever home, but nobody has been willing to give her a chance yet. She’s a very nervous girl when first meeting and she would need somebody with a lot of patience. She gets along well with other dogs and loves to play in the pool. Her best friend is Todd, who has also been here at our shelter for a very long time.

Sweet Goose is ready to fly into your heart! This adorable medium-sized pup was born on April 5, 2025. Her microchip tells us that she was adopted as just a small puppy by at Stockton Animal Shelter. We don’t know why she was found wandering all by herself at just 6 months old, but she’s here safe with us until she finds her new family. Her love of people never wavered, but we hope she never has to experience a broken promise ever again. Her breed mix is unknown, but her appearance has a Basenji-Boxer look. She is a unique beauty. She has the silliest little bouncy walk and is curious about everyone she meets. Meet Trigger, Reece, and Ranger! 🤠

These beautiful puppies were found on the side of a busy road in Lathrop. We are not sure of the breed, but they looks very much like Cattledog mixes. Their story is one of both heartbreak and survival. The puppies had clearly been abandoned, left with no food, no shelter, and no one to keep them safe. Tragically, one of their siblings didn’t survive, struck by a passing car before help could arrive. Fortunately, a kind person picked up the surviving puppies. When they arrived here, they relied on each other for comfort and were so scared. But in a very short amount of time, with the love and care of our staff, these resilient pups began to recover. Slowly, their tails started to wag and their playful spirits emerged. Their journey is a reminder of the harsh reality many animals in our community face, but also of the incredible resilience and hope that can grow when compassion steps in. Meet Sienna! 🦇

Sienna is a beautiful, playful pup that is estimated to be around 6-8 months in age. She was found as a stray, but no owner came forward for her. That doesn’t bring her down, though! She is so happy-go-lucky and is a joy to spend time with. She acts very puppyish still, so her new owner should look forward to laying the foundation for her training. Her breed is very intelligent, so she will be a breeze. She is good with the other dogs here at the shelter, but she hasn’t been tested with cats, so a careful introduction or a safe separation is important for any cat home. We have amazing news - ACE HAS BEEN ADOPTED!! 🥳
Ace was born here at our shelter and got adopted out when he was a baby. A year later he was abandoned and brought back to us. He spent almost a year here at our shelter waiting for his forever home, and he has finally been adopted by this loving family. We will miss Ace so much but we are so happy for him. YAY FOR ACE!!! ♠️❤️
