Let’s welcome this beautiful,special needs, senior girl - 12 years old , who by the way, needs to have her Christmas stocking filled! If you’d like to do it, let me know…
Meet Mamie!!!
Of course I’m just getting to know this beautiful girl, but she is very very sweet !
She came to Guardian Angels Pug Rescue, PA #16989 because sadly, her elderly dad passed away and her elderly mom was struggling to properly care for her.
You see, Mamie is paralyzed in her hind legs, she also is somewhat incontinent. I was told that sometime ago, her dad, who loved her deeply, was carrying her down the steps, and he lost his balance and fell, landing on top of her, breaking her back.
They did everything they possibly could to try and help her, unfortunately, the damage was done to her spine and nerve endings. BUT , she has a wheel cart that once she is in it, she can outrun just about everybody! She does from time to time leak urine, so I found it best to express her bladder every so many hours throughout the day to keep her comfortable, to avoid UTIs and to help avoid her leaking.
She has a great personality, of course I’ve only had her since last evening, but I’ve already fallen in love with this girl, and you will too! I will be calling on Monday to set up a veterinary appointment for a full work up.
