GAPR has an adoption procedure And please know, that EVERYTHING is by APPOINTMENT ONLY!!! to possibly adopt, email us: [email protected] and we'll be happy to email you an adoption application. It needs to be filled out completely, signed and dated and then mailed back to GAPR via USPS. Please include references and contact them to inform them that we will be calling to speak with them. Once the ado

ption application is processed, one of our volunteers will contact you to arrange a home inspection. once this is completed we will contact you as to whether you've been approved or not, if approved to this point, you will be scheduled in by appointment only, to visit with our rescues and we will be happy to help match you to the right pug rescue that will fit best into your family and home life. there is an adoption fee and it varies dependant on each individual pug rescue.

Anyone have a copy here on Facebook of the dog adoption 3-3-3 poster? The 3 days, 3 weeks, 3 months, it explains what the dog is going through and how it is adjusting once adopted ….I used to have it, but I cannot find it.

For all those that have signed up and pre-registered, today’s PUG YOGA is HAPPENING!!! Praise the Lord we have a beautiful day!
The grass is currently damp from overnight due and rain, but I’m praying that it dries up so that we won’t have wet Dupas . 😊

Again, the class is full and I cannot except any more students for today’s event. We may be having another one in the fall after the Original Pugfest in PA 2024….if our wonderful yoga instructor is willing to make the trip again in October so keep an eye out on the page.

O and I will be making baskets again this year. If you'd like to send us items ( or monetary donations to purchase items) for the baskets, please do so no later than July 15th because it takes us a while to get everything together AND Patti Levay and I have to coordinate a pickup time. If you are coming to the event, you can bring a basket with you. If you have lots and lots, please reach out to Patti directly to coordinate getting them to her. Also, I am in need of baskets. If you'd like to donate funds so I can purchase baskets to make them, that'd be appreciated as well. Please reach out to me for my PayPal address. Great news!!!! Had the spring state inspection today and passed without any issues!!! 💖🐾🐾💖🎉

For those of you who are not aware, I have a PA Kennel license #16989, for Guardian Angels Pug Rescue…this means that the state of Pennsylvania recognizes that I have a registered Kennel/Rescue shelter.
Having a Kennel license also means that anytime Monday through Friday throughout the year that the state Dog Warden has the right to inspect my Kennel, property, records, etc. at least twice a year. The state of PA has the power to issue, citations, fines, etc., even to the extent of making a Kennel close if things are not kept clean, maintained, and done properly.

I’ve been getting a lot of messages asking if there will be “The Original Pugfest in PA” this year and the answer is… YES!!!
Mark your calendars for:

Saturday, September 28, 2024!
The Original Pugfest in PA will be held at the Kingston Veterans & Sportsmans Club
138 Kingston Club Rd.,
Latrobe PA 15650

Admission is still Only $5 per Person
Gates Open to the public at 11 am..
Pugs and Pugwannabes are welcome and you do not have to have a dog to attend.

There is a pet friendly hotel, 10 minutes down the road, I highly recommend The Inn at Mountainview Hotel

TO LOVE A RESCUER:

To love a rescuer you must love all of her. You must love the scars covering her body from panicked and hurt animals she was trying to help. You must love her fractured heart, that has been broken so many times she no longer even takes the time to mend the pieces.

To love a rescuer, you must embrace her grit and determination, and know that although she fights a war she can never win, she can and does win a few battles. You must love the tears she will shed over those she lost. You must give her comfort that she refuses to accept, as she blames herself for things she could have never foreseen.

To love a rescuer you must acknowledge the rage she feels towards the world at times, and know that anger is driven by a love of life too few have. You must give her space and room to cry and mourn for the losses that others have caused out of carelessness or cruelty.

To love a rescuer you must understand her passion to heal and save is a calling, not a choice. You must accept that to save animals is part of her soul and without that she could never be happy.

To love a rescuer you must be patient. You must accept her work comes first. She will forgo sleep, forgo food, forgo her life for animals in need. She will work tirelessly until her body and mind fail her completely and she cannot go on.

To Love a rescuer, you must be strong. You must not be threatened by her focus and love of animals. You must accept that the things you love about her, the strength and convictions and loyalty are also what drives her sense of duty to animals in need; you cannot have one without the other.

To love a rescuer you must never ask her to choose, because she will, and it will not be you.

Thanks to Your Monetary donations, I can continue to help Lizzie with acupuncture and therapy sessions, just look how far she has come in such a short time frame! Lizzie still does need to use her wheel cart, but she is gaining some use of her legs. And of course I can also continue to help all the other rescues here and the future rescues.
