General Information
The 2022 Rassemblement® is scheduled for Monday May 23 & Tuesday May 24, 2022, in Latrobe, PA, and our dogs' evaluations will take place at:
B&D Creekside Event Center — 501 Avenue B, Latrobe, PA 15650
A list of hotels will be available on the BCA website and posted on our page.
Our Evaluator-Judge for the 2022 Rassemblement® is Mme Geneviève Pareau, from Isigny-sur-Mer, Normandy, France. Mme Pareau is an FCI Judge and a Specialist Judge for the Briard. She has owned and bred Briards since 1963 under the kennel name "du Sentier des Sources."
Mme Pareau is no stranger to us, as she has been our guest as the AKC Judge for the 1998 BCA National Specialty, and one of the two evaluators at the 2004 BCA Rassemblement®. At both events, Mme Pareau was then instructed to judge our Briards according to our AKC Breed Standard, and she has now again been instructed to follow that same standard in evaluating our Briards next May.
Our dogs' evaluations will be scheduled throughout the day on Monday and on Tuesday, keeping the late afternoon/evening on Tuesday for the Selection. When filling in the entry form, you will be asked to choose your preferred time(s) for the evaluation. In setting our schedule, we will try our best to accommodate your choice. Dogs will be scheduled for evaluation on a first come first served basis, but in no particular order with respect to color, s*x, or age.
The following divisions, however, are based on the dog's age on the day of the Selection (May 24, 2022).
• Puppy is for a dog under 12 months.
• Adult is for a dog 12 months and older but less than 7 years.
• Veteran is for a dog 7 years and older.
There is no distinction between Adults and Veterans, other than the entry fee. They will participate in the same selection. Puppies, however, will have their own selection process. At the Evaluator's choice, a mature Puppy could be evaluated as an Adult, and a young Adult, under 18 months, could be evaluated as a Puppy. It will be so noted in the Rassemblement® Book published after the event.
Entry fees are set at $28.00 for a Puppy, $35 for an Adult, and $28 for a Veteran. There is a break of $5.00 for an early entry, submitted on or before February 28, 2022. On or after May 1, 2022, if space allows, a late entry will be accepted with an additional fee of $10.00. Entry fees are non-refundable.
New for 2022:
• If 3 or more dogs from the same primary owner are entered,
• or if 3 or more littermates are entered (not necessarily by the same owner),
each dog will get a $5.00 break, refunded on May 24, 2022. These 2 discounts are not cumulative.
If you wish, you will be able to bring Briards that are spayed or neutered, as well as Briards that are clipped or shaved. It will be so noted in the Rassemblement® Book. These dogs will be evaluated as all the other dogs, all the way to a possible Selection.
Notes for Filling-In the Online Rassemblement® Entry Form
Your entries to the Rassemblement® can now be done online. This will help streamline the entry process, cut down on errors, speed up the publication of the 2022 Rassemblement® Book, and make it easier for you.
Download the online entry form — or click on the following link:
https://www.cognitoforms.com/BCARass/_2022BCARassemblementOnlineEntryForm?v2
It is divided into several sections.
• The General Information section is only informative.
• The Owner's and Dog's sections, as well as the Scheduling & Payment section, will ask you to fill in or check a few boxes (some are mandatory, some are optional). These are similar to what is asked on an AKC entry form, and they will take no time to fill in.
• The Supporting Material section, however, might take a bit more time for preparing a digital picture of the dog, a scan of the health certificates (if any), and a scan of the pedigree.
Specifically, for the Supporting Material section, you will need to submit (upload at the click of a button) the following.
• A recent full body profile picture of the dog. A scanned picture of your dog, preferably in show position, in the form of a jpg file, would be best. It should have a resolution of at least 300 dpi. If needed, a photographer will also be available on site.
• A scanned copy of the health certificates (if any), in the form of a pdf or a jpg file.
• A 3-generation pedigree, in the form of a doc, an xls, or a pdf file (unless you are willing to enter the pedigree by hand on the online form—which would be of great help to us). Our dogs' pedigrees have been an important part of the information carried in the BCA Rassemblement® books since 1974. They make a useful tool which allows breeders to trace dogs' ancestries.
Note: If you register several littermates, you can share the pedigree. Simply make a note of it (a box is available for comments at the bottom of each section), and give the specifics of the littermate(s).
If need be, the Supporting Material section could be skipped altogether, while submitting the rest of your entry online. The supporting material could then be sent separately as email attachments to Elise McMahon at: [email protected]
or by regular mail to: Elise McMahon, 125 East Chestnut Hill Road, Montague, MA 01351-9558,
You can even bring your dog’s additional information to the site on the day of the evaluation. Alternately, a hybrid method is possible: fill in the pedigree online and send the rest of the material by email, by regular mail, or bring it to the site. In all cases, we need to have the complete information before the dog's evaluation (entry form and supporting material).
If you cannot access or fill in the online entry form, download the hardcopy of the entry form — or click on:
https://www.icloud.com/iclouddrive/0SelsYCbpvZ1GNJ79ojBT_SPw
Print the form, fill it in, scan it, and send it as above.
Finally, you can always call Elise McMahon, (413) 367-0094, to request a hard copy be sent to you.
Whichever method you use, fill in and submit one entry form for each dog.
The Scheduling section is asking you to choose a time, or possible times, for your evaluation on Monday/Tuesday, AM/PM. If you have limited flexibility, please get your entries in early as slot preferences will be on a first come first served basis.
For an online entry, payment will need to be made separately, via PayPal or by sending a check to the BCA Treasurer. Addresses are with the online entry form. If you use a hardcopy of the entry form, you must include a check with your entry (and the supporting material). Pre-purchase of a 2022 Rassemblement® Book (one copy or more) will also be available.
Thank you,
