Friday, we partnered with the Humane Society of Broward County, and had an absolute blast at our first "SNUGGLE" event at the David Posnack Jewish Day School! 🐾 Employees enjoyed a break filled with snuggles from adoptable puppies, leaving with more joy in their hearts—and some even left with a new furry family member! Always a great day when you share the love! 🐶❤️

February 19th is National Whippet Day!

The whippet descends from greyhound roots, probably mixed with ratting terriers. The resulting small dogs could be used for poaching in the royal forests, and for entertainment in snap dog contests in which bets were made on how many rabbits a dog could snap up before the rabbits escaped from a circle. The Humane Society of Broward County relies on the generosity of our community and companies to fund our operations and programs budget. We do not get funding from the government, United Way or any other national or local organizations with similar names. Income sources are: adoption fees; services such as dog obedience, vaccination clinics, spay/neuter programs; pet boutique sales; fundraising events; grants; general donations and from those people who leave the shelter in their will. Every dollar is carefully spent to help the unwanted animals.
