With Bear and Turkey season opening up tomorrow, April 15, I just wanted to wish everyone luck. The bears are out, I have seen a few already this year and the turkys are actively fanning all over. Personally I'm after one more big bear to complete a project I've been working on. Also have had my eye on a turkey to try out some art ideas I have. Oh boy I'm so happy to see this bull up, and on the drying stand. It has been one heck of a project. I nicknamed this bull (Patrick Swazzy) after the hours I spent shirtless in the shop sculpting this beautiful massive bull back to his former glory. Going to be one happy guy to get this bull back home and on his wall. This bull sat for several years at another local taxidermy shop before the owner got tired of waiting and brought him to Allen Taxidermy. Well your waiting is almost over now!

It's that time of year when people are out looking for that brown gold. Unfortunately sometimes the sun takes its toll and they are not so brown anymore. Well good news is Allen Taxidermy can put some life back into those chalky antlers,fix breaks,and make them displayable again. Is anyone out there striking rich finding brown gold? This is a nice set of moose sheds that came into Allen Taxidermy last spring. The client wanted a European mount for their beautiful cabin. The client had been watching this bull for 3 years and figured if she wasn't able to draw a tag. At least she could relax in her living room daydreaming about what that big bull is up to deep in those mountains.

I finished up this beautiful shadow box to display a client's paddle fish today. Really happy with how it turned out. Have to thank Missoula Bench Builder for putting me together a great looking box. Wanted to let everyone know, I am having a great Christmas deal on this beautiful Semi-sneak, front face, closed mouth bull elk mount. I'm taking $600 off just in time for the holidays. All its missing is your antlers. Almost finished, so very fast turn around time. Would be done and make a great Christmas gift for someone that always wanted that shoulder mount but couldn't justify the price or has a euro that has fell off the wall and now has a broken skull. Or possibly have your dads/granddads rack in the barn somewhere you always wanted on the wall. Give me a call if you're interested.

It's been a long time coming on this bull. This bull showed up in my shop this spring. The customer had waited 8 years with another shop and was fed up. Nice thing about Allen Taxidermy is the quick turn around time. Finally it is up on the stand drying and I'm liking how it turned out for the most part. I have called this bull the swazzy bull. Not only because he is handsome and has several scars from brawls over the lady's. But I spent more hours then I'd like to admit slowly sculpting back his antler. I definitely learned a lot with this one. Now on to the next project so hopefully I can find the time to get after one of these monster for myself.

It took some time for some fish to finally come threw my door and I'm definitely pumped about it. Finished up painting this walleye and getting everything put together. Still waiting on the plaque with all its info. But won't be long before this one is headed home. Think of Allen Taxidermy this season. We bring your memories back to life.

Things are moving here at the shop. It's that time of year when I'm finishing up the last of last seasons inventory. Keeping myself busy with so many projects going on. But I'm excited for some clients to start getting those calls. It's always bitter sweet. I love seeing all the critters in the shop every morning when I flip the light on. Definitely always miss that. Watching projects come back to life in my hands has to be one of my favorite parts. But the time,stress,struggle,and brain cells lost from chemicals. Definitely will not be missed. The hours spent on something just for me to not like it and tare it all apart to start over, hate that part. So thought I would post a few things that are coming along and I can't wait to see people's smiles as they take their memories home. Hunting season starts this weekend and with any luck the phones will be ringing. Happy Hunting Everyone!

Allen Taxidermy! Tell your friends and fill my inventory this season. It's definitely that time of year. Lots happening in the shop last few days. There is more work that go's into this Taxidermy thing then you would think. Hopefully all of you are getting out to enjoying the woods and being successful. Trying to get to a spot to allow me to take off and spend a few days in the mountains myself.

Dont forget that Allen Taxidermy also does fish and birds. This is one of my personal fish in my collection. Replica of a brown I cought on the deer creek and one of, if not my biggest ever creek fish. This paint job is also the pattern for my chicken line on my raft. Most would never notice but I love all the little flaws.
