We normally don't ride Thanksgiving 🦃 week, but I will consider it - depending on the weather ! However - we're NOT riding on TurkeyDay 🍴🍗 & at this time - most of that week's weather doesn't look good 😕
State Forest trails closed to Horses - Mon. Dec. 2nd till Mon. March 31st.

This morning - Fri. Nov. 15th - room for 2 riders. Have to be here 10am. $80 cash/person.

Tomorrow morning - Sat. Nov. 16th - room for 2 riders. 9:30 arrival. $80 cash each.

Sunday morning - Nov. 17th - open (up to 4 riders). Can be 1, 1½, or 2 hours. Groom-n-Ride. Max $80 cash each rider.

All afternoon rides are full this weekend. Message the page if interested in a morning ride.

November is filling quickly, especially weekends! & the State Forest where we ride, will soon close to horseback riding for the Winter 😕 We're trying to get a short trail on our own property ready soon - so we can do some Winter riding! We'll make an announcement later when that's ready, along with the details 🤠

UPDATE #4 - Stroker did a 1 Hour Sunset ride Friday. Has another this evening. So far - so good❣️

Update #3 - 10/18 Stroker is doing well, & we're gonna test him with 1 hour trails only at this time.

Update #2 - 10/14
The farrier came out today and opened up the abscess enough so we can treat it. He is walking much better today, but he's not 100% yet. We'll see in a few days how he is doing and if he is able to go back to work. Thank you all for your love and concern! 🥰

Update #1 on Stroker.
We found an abscess in his foot last night (same foot that got real bad in 2018), & got it opened enough to get the pressure off.
He is bearing weight on it this morning. If it's not too bad he may be ready to be ridden lightly inside a week. The Farrier will assess it on Monday.
Powerstroke is retiring at the end of season at 25 yrs old, & will likely be leaving us over the winter, as soon as we find another Draft to fill his role.

I can't & won't spend all day every day scheduling. I have alot of other responsibilities, & one of the reasons I do this - is being able to ride, too. We have two horses down & unrideable - so, I have to make changes to rides that are already scheduled. I also have to be careful not to overuse the remaining ones - so they dont get injured, etc.

A working telephone number with Voicemail NOT filled - is a standard requirement at this point. People message or even email with no phone number, & when I try to reach them - if I get no response ... I have no alternative way to try to get a hold of them 🤷🏼‍♀️

Okay, folks ... this is important !
We're a 20+ yr Itty-Bitty stable, & OCTOBER is Nearly Full❗️Return Riders booked Fall rides in April (& Club Members get early scheduling). & if you don't give your ride request & Rider DETAILS, a phone # , etc - we CAN'T even add you to the waiting list ! Things change - people cancel - & openings are sometimes last minute 🤷🏼‍♀️

We DON'T do large groups - FOUR (4) is MAX, we DON'T do little kids, & we DON'T do any "Online Booking"- unless you count "by Messenger" ! We HIGHLY suggest reading the posts featured at the top of our page, & the About/Services tabs.

CLOSED ALL MONDAYS - the Horses are resting, but that's our appointment & errand day. Farrier (shoes) &/or Horse Chiro, Sawdust, Hay, Grain, Groceries, & more.

*Besides scheduling, I also need to do the rides, feed & care for 9 horses twice a day (sometimes all by myself), eat, sleep, etc 🥴
I am MORE than swamped.

Our 9pm Saturday night fun 😁
While you may be enjoying a campfire, dinner, a movie, etc ... our usual activity is caring for the horses. Putting them away from the days rides, liniment sore joints, salve any boo-boos, etc; then Hay, Water, & Feed them. We aren't done & haven't eaten dinner yet. Getting ready to do it all over again tomorrow starting . At least it's not going to rain overnight, & we don't have to put all these Saddles, etc away 🙄
This is what I mean when I say we have very, VERY, long days, & it can take some time to get folks scheduled. I'm 53, I get tired 🤷🏼‍♀️

He seems to be a little better this evening, but we've not had him out of his shelter. I will try to evaluate him tomorrow.
Stroker is Lame (his hind left foot / leg is hurting) 😢
He's off-duty - we don't know how long, as we can't figure out the cause. & at 25 yrs old, probably retiring after this Fall.
Bobbys limit is 250 #, & Mystik's is 275 #. BUT we are only putting Experienced Riders on Mystik ! Both Weight Limits are lower longer than 2 hours. We'll work around this as best we can. Sorry 🥺

Hey Folks! Once more - letting you know, most Saturdays & Sundays THRU October are nearly or completely full. We originally posted about this Sept. 9th 😳 (So, be flexible as possible on Date, Time, & Length of ride).
Best we can do in that case - is add you to a contact wait-list for any cancellation openings; & that still requires DETAILS of Riders❗️OR, we can send you a list of other local stables to try.
FYI - Wed, Thurs, & Fridays arent as popular. Some Fall WEEKDAYS here & there are already full as well - but primarily the weekends.
Sept & Oct are always our busiest months of riding season 🤠 & we'll ride thru November - as long as the weather is pleasant.

Here's some of what we did with this weekends Hurricane Winds & Rain. Limb took down a fence & I had Horses loose Friday. Sunday we spent 5 hours clearing all our shorter routes on the State Forest Trails. Old Man's Cave reported 2+ more inches of rain just Today (Monday 9/30) 😱 while we were trying to have horses shoes reset - outside. The only thing that DIDN'T happen - was lose power over the weekend 🥴

UPDATE - Verizon is back up !
2nd UPDATE - WiFi repaired !
Just FYI, Verizon has a ongoing outage & our Wifi was also taken down due to the storm & not been repaired yet. So, we have no access to internet currently (using my wrangler's ATT phone hotspot to post this). Please include a Phone number with any correspondence. Calling the LandLine would be better than Messenger or Email for now.
Will update post accordingly 🙄

Verizon customers reported their mobile phone service wasn't working in cities across the U.S., giving them only SOS mode.

NOTICE ‼️ Due to the drought - there's NO DRINKABLE WATER on trail in the creeks for the Horses right now 😢 & So, anything scheduled as 3 or 4 Hours will be converted to 2 Hour rides. Sorry❗️
To explain further ... what little water is out there - even 400 feet down from here, is STAGNANT & Nasty 😱 So, there will be NO Rides longer than 2 hours 😓 We're NOT comfortable with our horses not having a drink for that long - especially in our rugged terrain - with 100s of feet of elevation changes, working hard, & sweating on the hotter days. These aren't Arabians/Endurance race horses, & many are also older. We will NOT risk their health. We offer them water here before & after rides - but more than 2 hours, we're not okay with 😟
We'll resume the scheduled longer rides - once we've had enough rain to change it 😞
