Congratulations to Ryan Webb and his dog Belle (Native Retrievers Graduate). They went 1-2 in Finished at the Dogtown Retriever Club Hunt Test this weekend in Sylvania, GA. Ryan ran his first ever hunt test and picked up a pass. He and Belle need one more pass and she’ll obtain her Hunting Retriever Champion Title. Very proud moment for me to see an owner handle their dog with success at this level. When Ryan expressed interest in doing this I was excited but honest about the learning curve he would experience as a handler entering competitions. He’s worked hard and been very coachable and has handled it well. He and Belle make a great team and the best is yet to come for them.

The Native Pack had a solid weekend at Midlands HRC 30th Anniversary Hunt Test. Congratulations to Belle and owner Ryan Webb 1/2 Finished, Denver and owner Rob Shirley 1/2 Finished, Maggie and owner Timothy Caldwell 1/2 Finished, Dolly and owner Christopher McCall 2/2 Finished, Bonnie and owner Wes Funderburk 1/2 Finished, Rip and owner Christopher McCall 2/2 Finished, Ruby and owner Sloan Loyd 2/2 Seasoned. And we can’t forget Brady and Ruby competed in their Puppy Stakes and took home a ribbon (maybe the most important one of the weekend. Shout out to Midlands HRC and all the folks who made this weekend happen. Lots of time and effort and work goes in to pulling an event off like this and they did it well.

Congratulations to Rip and owner Christopher McCall Rip passed the pinnacle event in the Hunting Retriever Club world, the 2024 Spring HRC International Grand. Rip ran at a very high and consistent level for 5 days to prove he’s one of the best hunting retrievers in the country. To say I’m proud of him is an understatement. For me personally and as a trainer, passing the Grand became a goal of mine when I bought my first lab over 15 years ago. There are so many people that I need to thank for their contribution to this and role they played in helping us get there. I will do this personally. To God Be The Glory and the best is yet to come

Our youngest getting in some hacks in between dogs . Had to toss BP from behind the holding blind for protection. Got hot-lined the pitch before😂
