Play in the snow day today!

Axel thought of a fun idea. He blew up the inner tub that they have for water fun. He thought it’d be a fun idea to be pulled behind a dog.

Hoss was kind enough to be careful with the boys. They all seemed to have a lot of fun sliding on the snow.

Anybody else have fun snow photos of their dogs outside?

Just a few boarders giving a fashion show.

Strutting around are Hoss in green, Hank in red, and Cassie in red plaid. They didn’t bring clothing, I have these clothing pieces. These are the smaller boarders that fit the clothing.

Not much playtime today. The dogs just want to p*e and go back inside.

The boys were throwing a toy for ‘Captain’.

It got caught in the tree. 🫣

I knew something wasn’t correct when the boys came inside to grab the mop. The handle is the tallest thing they were able to use.

Axel climbed up the handle and got in the tree to release the toy.

Captain was so excited to get back to playing. 😝

Happy New Year!

The boys are trying a New Year’s food tradition on the dogs.

They are trying to get ‘Trooper’ to eat all 12 grapes. Each grape is to eaten as the 12 bell chimes before midnight on 31 Dec.

Spanish tradition states that eating 12 grapes at each bell chime by midnight, you will have good fortune & prosperity the whole year. Each grape represents a month in the new year.

There are many food traditions to follow, black eyed peas, ham & pork, greens, long noodles, tamales, and circular desserts to name a few.

National Card Playing Day -

What a great day to play cards inside! It’s been raining here since 5am. By Futurecast radar, we have 3 more hours of rain.

The boys started playing Poker with ‘Buster’. He’s a young one, so playing Poker with Axel & Rascal got I bit frustrating. He has a great hand, a Straught Flush, but didn’t beat Axel’s hand.

Axel always wins, he has a Royal Flush, Rascal has 2 pair, but he just likes to eat the items brought to bet with.

Arts & Crafts today to honor National Make a Cut-Out Snowflake Day

Kel & ‘Emmitt’ spent some time helping eachother fold paper and cut it to make snowflakes.

Axel is getting boxed up.

‘Gus’ has heard from other boarders that the little red skinny elves at their houses get sent back to the North Pole after Christmas.

Little does Gus know, these little red skinny elves are around here working everyday of the year.

Hope everyone had a nice Christmas holiday and don’t forget! If you live in an area where fireworks can, and will be set off, get ready. 💥 Atleast we’re getting some rain before.

Just a few of the boarders getting cookies from Santa’s helpers this morning.

All but 1 boarder got cookies. Santa told the boys to give the bad dog 1 LUMP of coal, but the they thought otherwise.

If any of you know ‘Dillon’ (goes by other names too) you’d know he is a character.

In honor of Cookie Exchange Day -

Axel has a bunch of limited edition Oreo holiday cookies and Oreo flavored candy canes, so he was interested to see what kind of cookies ‘Peppers’ brought to the table.

Peppers was the only boarder that signed up for the cookie exchange, all the other boarders didn’t want to share their cookies.

Axel wasn’t impressed. I’m not sure what kind of cookies he thought a boarder would have.

Axel was on turn out duty this morning. He was pretty excited to go outside with these 3 monkeys. Asked them if they were ready to go outside…

Once Axel opened the door, he realized how cold it was outside. He let the dogs out and stayed inside.

He used his hands to clean the condensation off the backdoor window to watch the dogs. It was soo warm inside, Axel was not going outside.

Get ready the cold weather is coming.

Since the weather was 80* the last few days, the boys ate a lot of popsicles. They saved the sticks to do some arts & crafts.

Once they finished collecting items for their project, they put them together. Each boy made his own version of a reindeer.

They asked ‘Kit’ to judge which one of the reindeer she thought was the best.

Kit took her judging job seriously! She checked each project for craftsmanship and creativity.

She thought all 3 reindeer were winners!

Every once in awhile I get a couple dogs with the same name boarding at the same time.

This week I have a few dogs with the same names. It’s kinda funny when I call one dog and the other responds. 😝

It’s National Gingerbread Decorating Day -

Kel & ‘Sawyer’ decorated a couple fresh boxed gingerbread items.

Imagination ran wild with Sawyer. (He actually had a set of testicles on his man, but I told him that wouldn’t work in this photo.) 😝

Kel on the other hand, has a huge set of red lips and a very colorful hat on his cookie.

If you decorate any gingerbread, have fun!

In honor of National Brownie Day -

I give you, ‘Cooper’, the loviest brown dog here. (Sawyer is too, but he’s not part of this pack.)

While Cooper’s housemates play rough, he wants pets. And, it keeps the girls away from him. 😝

‘Bella’ the lab was so happy to play with 2 toys, until ‘Dolly’ wanted one!

The boys have been working hard to put Christmas decorations up in the front area, between dogs coming and going.

Usually there are no tree ornaments on the little Christmas tree because the cats think they belong on the floor.

This year, the boys got a special gift. (Thank you Barbara!) An ornament, a pretty girl elf on a box. So, Axel wanted to honor her and he hung her on the tree. Now the boys have a betting pool to see how long it takes for the cats to knock her down to the floor.

Anyone want in on the betting pool? 😆

Milo rollin’

You see him rollin’ Milo is very treat motivated and knows how to use his treat ball. If you have a puppy or dog that needs mental activity, these kinds of toys are great. You can fill them with kibble and/or treats.

Hope you have a nice start to 2024! ‘Hanks’ has been trying to get up in the tree for days. He finally got up this morning! It was one of his resolutions for 2024. 😆 Since I can’t add a video & photo in the post, his achievement is in the comment section. What do you hope your dog(s) 2024 resolution(s) should be?

For these 3 housemates it was perfect timing. I was out playing with them at 12:33pm and got a text from the proud papa asking how the dogs were. ‘Evey’ and I were playing frisbee and all of a sudden the 2 crazies, ‘Strawberry’ & ‘Charlie’ started to play and got a little outta hand. (Disrupting the frisbee time.) Video got stopped because Strawberry jumped in my lap to get away from Charlie. 😆

‘Evey’ is very serious about her play time. Her housemates ‘Charlie’ & ‘Strawberry’ didn’t care to play at this time.

So pretty! Big fluffy snowflakes last night. ‘Bella’ just wanted to play. Did you get any snow?

Since it’s so hot outside, Gizmo wanted to play inside. 🤣

Seems like we have lost good manners or etiquette these days. I remember (as a well mannered child) hearing, ‘don’t talk with your mouth full’ be told to other children. ‘Maggie’ apparently feels that saying is antiquated. 🤣
