Good morning!
Do you have any rain boots that are no longer of use to you? We could use them! With the colder weather and rain, our sneakers just don’t cut it!

We could also use latex gloves for handling sick animals. We need small-large:)

You've heard of "spring cleaning" but have you heard of "holiday break cleaning and cleanout to donate items for shelter pets in need" Okay..maybe we made that up, but it sounds pretty good right?!

Our friends at Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter need our help!

URGENT NEEDS:

Linens for the colder temperatures: towels, sheets, blankets, quilts, comforters (new or used)

Scrubs sized XS-2XL (new or used)

Dry Cat and Puppy Food

Shredded paper and newspaper

CLEANING SUPPLIES:

With the cold weather here, we are in desperate need of bedding such as blankets, sheets, towels, and comforters. As you can imagine, these items not only bring warmth to the animals but also provide some comfort to them. If you have the ability, please donate some bedding to the animals in our care. They really need your help.

The Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter will be closed for the first half of December while we make required updates to the original buildings per the Department of Agriculture instructions. We have been slowly working on these repairs the past few weeks We had hoped to finish once our new Adoption Center was open (expected to be in early January) in order to minimize disruptions to our services, but the Department of Agriculture has decided to enforce this immediately (on many shelters, not just us), and that necessitates closing to intake for at least a couple of weeks.

We deeply apologize for this unexpected inconvenience. It breaks our hearts to have to reduce services for any reason, and this is particularly bad timing. Unfortunately, it is out of our control. We will continue to provide care and comfort for all the animals currently in the shelter and will work as quickly as possible to get back to our mission of serving the needs of our communities and placing these animals into forever homes!

Thank you for your understanding and patience during this unanticipated closure. We will gladly announce when we are able to resume services!



Please, no bashing will help this situation We try our very best with what we have! We are in a small town, so we know the rumor mill will start! Please call the shelter if you have any questions or concerns ! Or just want the truth!



Also, please remember that during this time, we have a full shelter, so we desperately still need supplies!! Dog food, puppy food, kitten food, cat food,bleach, paper towls . We will try to post items in need weekly! Once again, thank you for your love and support!!

This (Dog) was Found in (Hart County ) on (11/8/24) If you are the animal’s owner (Or you have any information on the animal) , please bring proof of ownership (Photo) to reclaim. The stray hold is up in 5 business days in which case the animal becomes legal property of Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter and can be adopted or rescued.

The stray hold is 5 business days, which allows owners a reasonable amount of time to come looking for their pets. There is a reclaim fee that covers the vaccinations the animal received on intake and the “boarding” cost. The fee varies depending upon the length of stay.

NEGAS Adoption Procedure:
Adoption Fees: Adoption fee includes spay or neuter certificate and current (age-appropriate) vaccinations.

-Hours of Operation:
Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 11:00am-4:00pm

Adoption Fees (Cash or Check):
-Dogs $75.00
-Puppies $100.00 (6 months and younger)
-Cats/ Kittens $45.00
