This (Dog) was Found in (Hart County ) on (4/4/25) If you are the animal’s owner (Or you have any information on the animal) , please bring proof of ownership (Photo) to reclaim. The stray hold is up in 5 business days in which case the animal becomes legal property of Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter and can be adopted or rescued.

The stray hold is 5 business days, which allows owners a reasonable amount of time to come looking for their pets. There is a reclaim fee that covers the vaccinations the animal received on intake and the “boarding” cost. The fee varies depending upon the length of stay.

It's almost time!

Check out the schedule of events for this Saturday's 18th Annual Dam Dog Walk at Big Oak Recreation Area in Hartwell, GA.

Our adoptable dogs will be there all day accompanied by some Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter dogs and all ready ready to find their forever homes!

Don't miss the K9 Justice dog training demonstration, live music from The Porch Band, food from Mattnokos and Treats & Eats by Caitlin, "Buy a dog, save a dog" hotdog plates thanks to State Rep Allen Powell and Krispy Kreme donuts courtesy of Tilley's Pet Villa.

Check out the 25+ vendor booths and don't miss the Dog Pageant!

Thanks to Lake Hartwell Veterinary Clinic and Purina this year's event will be the biggest and best so far ❤️🐾

Come see us at Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter’s Spring Rabies Clinic. We will be giving away free canned cat food and selling refreshments to help fill our community fund and donating a portion of our proceeds to the shelter as well.

If you’d like to help sponsor our first Spring outreach event, please send a message. We are in need of sponsors for refreshments, spay/neuter outreach, and vaccines.

Help needed!

Our washing machine is on the fritz, and we're struggling to keep up with the laundry for all our furry friends. If anyone can help us out with another one it would mean the world to us!
Every suggestion helps as we keep our shelter clean and cozy for the animals. We are so grateful for the continued support we receive from our wonderful community.
