Margie's artwork will be on display at the cafe and available for purchase throughout the month of December.
A Kansas native, Margie Kuhn grew up in Lawrence, Kansas and attended Kansas University. She earned an undergraduate degree in scientific illustration and worked as a freelance scientific illustrator for a few years before she began teaching art at area art centers and museums. This experience inspired a return to school, where she earned a Masters of Art Museum Education and later a Masters of Fine Arts in painting. Kuhn taught at Baker University and at Washburn University and was the Education Coordinator at the Mulvane Art Museum in Topeka, Kansas before teaching in the University of Kansas Design Department 2000-16. She exhibits her work nationally. Her art is in many public and private collections, including the Mulvane Art Museum, Springfield Art Museum, Lawrence Memorial Hospital, the University of Kansas Medical Center, and Emprise Bank. Retired from teaching, Kuhn works daily in her basement studio that she shares with her husband John Kuhn, a photorealist painter, and two very helpful Cornish Rex cats (they have big ears).

We decided to throw a catnip tea party using Tabitha Twitchet, a custom blend made for cats & people by our friends at Brits - Purveyors of British goods. 😊 It's a combination of organic catnip, spearmint and rose petals and it's actually quite lovely.
The kitties VERY much enjoyed the tea leaf sprinkles, but opted out of trying the tea itself even in cute tiny mugs. 😄 Our staff does enjoy the tea though.
Note: If attempting at home, please make sure tea is completely cooled before giving to kitties. Although from our experiment, it seems they prefer the tea leaves straight up.
