Join our passionate team of walkers for this fulfilling and active job! We're looking for dog lovers who enjoy spending time outdoors, and would responsibly care for their furry clients! 🐶

🐩 professional/personal experience with dogs preferred but not required
🚗 have reliable transportation with a valid drivers license
🗓️ Monday through Friday (8AM-4PM, daily schedules can vary)
☀️☁️❄️ Be willing to walk/drive in all kinds of weather including rain, cold, and snow

Kim is hosting another FREE Body Language presentation! 🗓️👩‍🏫

We’d love to see you at Stadium Plaza THIS SATURDAY, January 11th, at 2pm for an informative and interactive education event with Kim Palermo. Learn about your dogs’ body language and how to further your communication with your furry best friends! 🐶🐩

Kim’s presentation covers everything from nose to tail: What the heck is piloerection? 🤔 Whale eye? 👁️Tongue flicking? 👅 Wait, a wagging tail doesn’t necessarily mean a happy dog? 🤷‍♀️

She’ll answer your questions and more at this free, human-only talk! Once you learn to speak dog, you’ll see signals everywhere and better navigate your training relationship. 🤝 Reading your pup also allows for more successful and positive experiences interacting with new friends, whether human or dog, and gives you the opportunity to better advocate on their behalf. 🤞👯‍♀️

Amy Cook is coming to Massachusetts! 🗓️

Learn all about The​ Play​ Way:​ Amy Cook’s method of helping shy and fearful dogs overcome these issues to live a happier, less-stressed life. Rather than focusing mainly on food, as many do when working with these dogs, Amy has established a more nuanced rehabilitation process that revolves around personal, social play. She believes play is a much more reliable method of judging a dog’s true behavioral thresholds, while being equally effective at supporting a dog to make emotional change. Play is both an indicator of stress and an intervention for stress!

In this seminar you will learn:
-How to identify stress in dogs 🔍
-About threshold management
-How to read a dog so you know what to do and when 📖
-About relaxed play, and its important role in the rehabilitation of stress & anxiety 🧘‍♀️
-Personal play, food or toys: which one should you use and when? 🎾🍪
-How to help a dog "Look and Dismiss" and take challenges in stride. 👏

Whether your pup is being reactive on leash, fearful in the world, or you are struggling with a dog who performs great during training but shuts down at trials, this seminar can provide unique skills and a different approach to traditional food-driven counter conditioning protocols.

We ❤️ our Scent Work Rockstars!

Students from Diane’s scent work classes attended their first Sniff-Thru: a mock trial that gives scent work participants the opportunity to practice trial-like conditions in different locations. With the skills our students learned from their Scent Work classes, they were able to get a feel for what a real scent work trial feels like! Scent work organizations run trials where teams can earn titles within the sport. While the Sniff Thru does not count towards any titling, it’s a fun experience to allow for more successful experiences in the future, by preparing both the human and dog.

BlueDog had 7 teams attend this festive Sniff Thru organized by Julie Annese and Cheri McCoy from Fit n Trim in Rowley. Camp Dennison in Georgetown was the perfect venue for decorated cabins, cookies and hot cocoa, and even a visit from the one and only Santa Claus! 🍪☕️🎅

Diane helped with the judging and reported that the students had a blast demonstrating the skills they learned at their classes, and always enjoy extra-curricular activities with their furry best friends 🐶💖

We absolutely love everything that scent work offers our dogs, and equally love the opportunities these sports offer our human students! If you’re interested in furthering your bond with your dog, building a community, and striving towards different training goals, scent work is a fabulous sport, open to all levels of experience. Do you ever look at your dog and wonder, “What is going on inside their head?” 🤔 Have they ever reacted in a way that makes you wish you knew what they were saying or feeling? 💭

Well, if you have, and happened to have caught a moment like this on camera, we’d love to help you translate! 🗣️ In anticipation of Kim’s Body Language presentation, she’s accepting video submissions for a chance to be included in her presentation and answer your big questions about what your dog may be saying.* 🎥🎬

If you’ve ever taken a video of your dog:
- investigating a novel item 🧸
- interacting with another dog or person 🐶👧
- noticing a change in the environment 👀
- exploring a new environment 🌳

Chances are, you’ve caught some body language! Anything from a lip lick, paw raise, and other subtle cues all the way up to bigger signals like piloerection, or vocalization are forms of communication from our dogs. 👅🎤 Kim’s presentation will walk you through what these all mean, and how you can become an expert in reading your dog!

*To submit your video, please send it to us at [email protected] and include your dog’s name, breed, and gender. If there is additional context needed for the video, you may include that as well!*

*Please use your best judgement when it comes to choosing what to record/what type of video you submit. We do not suggest purposely putting your dog in stressful situations for the sake of capturing a video.
