Sweet Millie was an absolute doll to take care of!

And wanna know a fun fact? She plays games! Yes, GAMES!

To come inside, you must toss her a rock. Then, she will expect to exchange the rock for a treat inside. Isn’t she clever?!

I had a WONDERFUL time watching Millie last weekend! She loves to lounge, relax, and watch TV—and so do I!

I’m glad I was able to give her owners some peace of mind, so they could enjoy their time away!

This past week I have had the honor of taking care of Ruby and Elvis! 🤩

Ruby is the sweetest cat you will ever meet, and Elvis is such a chatty, silly guy! I was nervous at first, as I don’t have much experience with birds, but Elvis was easy to care for, and easy to fall in love with!

Here’s a pet tip for you! 🐾

Some dogs struggle with separation anxiety when their owner is gone, like Miss Khloe.

Something I like to do to help is playing soothing music. It is easy to find separation anxiety music on Youtube! Khloe seems to calm right down when listening to it!

We're in final preparation stages for our BIGGEST adoption event of the year, Clear the Shelters! In order to make sure every dog and cat has their bags packed and ready to go home for this MEGA adoption event, we'll be closing early for adoptions today at 4:00 PM and will be closed for adoptions all day tomorrow, Friday, September 6th to prepare for the event.

(NOTE: The Pet Resource Center will be open for normal business hours today and tomorrow.)

Clear the Shelters is a nationwide pet adoption event sponsored by Hill’s Pet Nutrition and NBC Universal with the goal of finding loving homes for animals in need. At Lawrence Humane, all pet adoptions will be fee-waived on Saturday, September 7th from 10 am to 6 pm, or until all the pets are adopted!! Hope to see you there!
