THE MOST INSIGHTFUL ADVICE YOU WILL HEAR

As frigid temps come in, people are posting photos of cats outside their door crying asking anyone to come get them or asking what should they do. We have your answer…

👉🏼LET THEM IN. Shelters are full. Begging for some random person who could possibly have ill intentions or be a hoarder to take them isn’t better for that cat. STOP TRYING TO PUT THIS ON EVERYONE ELSE, ESPECIALLY ALREADY OVERCROWDED RESCUES IN A SELFISH ATTEMPT TO RELIEVE YOUR CONSCIENCE.

If you don’t have a bathroom or spare room at least provide food and some sort of shelter. Straw with a cooler or large box will do wonders if you don’t have a shelter. Stop making excuses. So many “don’t have” a spare room or garage or ‘is only allowed 2 pets’ yet have no issue giving the cat to an overcrowded rescue who has nothing but a cage to hold them and has that same pet limit policy. No one is asking you to keep them but no one is going to come and randomly inspect your home in 24hrs. It’s a difficult season for all animals. Bend the rules, be a decent human being and stop posting these photos asking everyone else to do something. Everyone needs to take a turn.

He has been at the shelter for 6 months!! He is the longest resident currently 😭 Please keep sharing so we can find him a loving home. If you are interested in adopting him please fill out an application.

Ja'marr Chase is still looking for his forever home! He is currently one of our longest residents being here since July and he hasn't been out of the shelter and we aren't sure why!
Ja'marr Chase is such a fun and joyful boy! He was able to sit and wait patiently to be let into the play yard. He is an intelligent guy and eager to please, and is definitely toy motivated. He has a very happy-go-lucky spirit and self-entertains. He doesn't need much supervision in the play yard, just plenty of toys! He loves squeaky toys of all types and textures. The stuffed toys and the squeaky Kong ball appear to be his favorite. He continued playing with it and the regular tennis balls in the yard, even after they were broken. Ja'marr Chase is a curious and smart boy, and a passionate player with his toys (his name is very fitting!). He appears to be highly trainable and inquisitive. One of the first things he did in the yard was open up the toy box to see what was inside. He dove right in and even knocked it over to find something good- so adorable! He also seems to love the kiddie pool, even though it's December and there was no water in it.

Ja'marr chase is available for adoption at Cincy CARE in Northside! Adoption fees are $25 for animals six months and over now through December 11th thanks to our friends at the BISSELL Pets Foundation.

Several nights ago we received a text about a stray kitten that an elderly man noticed in a neighbor’s yard. This kitten had been there all day and no one helped him even though they saw him. We were on the stray route and posted for help with transport so big thank you to Serenity Ball for going out and agreeing to foster. We had him seen at the vet the next day and 5 days later look at little Benny now. Some meds and a lot of TLC has made a huge difference for this kitten. Turns out Benny is quite a snuggle bug and once he’s fully vetted he’ll be looking for his forever home 😺
