I've had a lot of people ask me why I prefer the thumb loop. Well for one, your strongest part of your hand is your thumb. So that makes the most sense to me. I don't like when I'm training and drop the leash and the handle gets hung up on rocks and leaves and the thumb loop makes that less of a problem. I prefer no handle on my training leashes but with some dogs in training I need something to hang on to Incase of emergency, like this girl that is reactive. With it on my thumb I have very good control without a big floppy handle in the way.

These are my preferences. They don't have to be yours I just wanted to help you understand the reason I make thumb loop leashes. 😊

Kongs with Grippy handles can now be purchased on my website! These handles are made with zero metal hardware and are super strong and nearly impossible to pop out of the Kong once installed. I say nearly because if there is one thing I've learned about working dogs in all my years around them is, you never say they "can't" or "impossible" 🤣 but is hasn't happened yet that I know of.

Grippy handles only also available for purchase to add to your Kongs at home. To insure they are tough and super strong for hard tugging dogs (so they won't pop out like other brands) they take some serious elbow grease to install in your Kongs. Please please educate yourself on how to treat a dog having heat related illnesse (heat exhaustion & heat stroke)

Contrary to popular belief you can not cool a dog too fast. You can however cool them too much and it's actually pretty easy if you aren't constantly monitoring their internal body temperature. Be sure to have at least two thermometers in your vehicle. Yes the human ones work but they also can top out at a certain temp. Get the dog kind of you can. Digital is fastest. Having two, means less chance of a dead battery.

Wet the entire dog with running water. This is the best way if you have access to running water from a hose or a cool moving creek.

Emergency ice packs are amazing. Cooling towels. I don't recommend covering the dog in them but having them in small areas on the dog (armpits, belly & between the legs with constant rewetting to keep them cool.

Keep a fan blowing on them in a shaded area while wetting the dog constantly.

Be sure to watch that temperature. I check every 3 minutes. Once the dog cools to 104 take them to the vet for after care. They can go from being overheated to being extremely cold. Be careful with that. Both (hyperthermia too hot) and (hypothermia too cold) are very dangerous
