A student at Oldenburg Academy, Noah Schenk, reached out to us wanting to complete his Eagle Scout Project at the park. He wanted to create a memorial for Lauren and to keep her legacy going at the park. The project was completed this past weekend.

Happy Birthday to this sweet, humble, strong, beautiful, dog-loving young lady, Lauren Hill! 🎂🎉
The dog park has been open for over a year, in honor of her and we know she will be so happy to look down on all the dogs, families, and more who will utilize it for years to come.

Lauren has put so many things into play for so many kids and families over the last decade and without her strong will and drive for hope and never giving up on the strides and research that is being done today, it wouldn't be happening, she has and always will make an impact on the fight against DIPG and finding a cure. ❤🏀🐾

Yesterday, at the Grand Opening of the Hoosier Hills Credit Union at its new branch in Greendale, we were presented with a $5,000 check for the park!

NOTICE:

Both sides of the dog park will be closed this week, Wednesday- Friday (September 13th-15th). Concrete will be poured on the floor of the shelter.

The Park will be back open on Saturday! Sorry for the inconvenience.

NOTICE: The dog park will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, August 30th all day for w**d killing. Crews will spray chemicals to kill w**ds, a long-standing problem within the dog park.

The plan is to open the dog park back up on Thursday morning.

Our park wouldn’t have even been a thought without this guy. Tom originally brought the idea to Greendale city officials and city council to use the land we have our park on for a dog park in memory of Lauren Hill. He was touched by her story and also loved his community and dogs! He wanted to bring the two together. During this meeting he met Adam Duwel (current board member) who wanted to turn the area into a mountain bike trail and from there their ideas joined together and they started on the Friends of Lauren Hill Memorial Park. Unfortunately Tom would not see his idea come to fruition as his life was tragically taken 5 years ago today and even worse there has still been no one charged with his murder. His case is on going and will never be forgotten (Who Killed Big Tom?) This plaque and boulder are placed at the park in memory of Tom and his vision. Tom is missed by so many and just like Lauren’s legacy, Tom’s will live on too! Please keep his family & friends in your prayers. 💙

We will have free pizza on Saturday from J.Damon's Wood Fired Pizza just like last year at our grand opening! They have some of the most delicious wood fired pizza in the tri-state! Stop up to check out the park, let your furry friend run around, and see all the new exciting things coming to the park this year and celebrate a great year being in the community to honor a local hero, Lauren Hill! We love that we get to carry on her legacy with another one of her passions, dogs and community!

Our 1 year anniversary is this Saturday, April 22nd from 12p - 3p with a volunteer morning scheduled from 9am - 12pm if you would like to help with some maintenance on the bike trails and in/around the dog parks!

We are 12 days away from our 1 year Anniversary party and we plan to make it a "dog gone" good time! We will have pizza, vendors, merchandise, a raffle & more from 12-3 on Saturday, April 22nd at the park.

One of the vendors who will be there is Bark Boutique ! They are a full groom service that comes to you and is based out of the Hidden Valley Lake community! Stop by and chat with them about getting your dog set up for a groom and they will also be offering $5 nail trims on-site at the event!

Here is an update about the large dog park area!
Unfortunately we will have to keep the large dog park side closed until our 1 year anniversary party on 4/22. We are dealing with lots of muddy areas that need grass seed and straw over them to help grow grass. We also have found some areas throughout the park that need some extra TLC because well the area did use to be a old dump so we want to make sure the area is safe and secure for you and your furry friends! We plan to have some updates to the area as well that were brought up to us over the past year like putting a shelter that will cross both the small and large dog side areas to provide shade during the hot summer days! We also generously have had some local groups offer to build/purchase additional benches for both sides of the park. We will be adding another dog poo bag dispenser out in the parks on the pole to be accessed by both sides so you don't have to walk all the way back to the entrance to get one and many more little things to help make the experience for you and your fur babies one you enjoy for many days and years to come!

We hope everyone can understand the obstacles we have come across and that we hate being closed just as much as you do but we are doing it for all you who attend!

Last thing, please remember the small dog side is meant for dogs 22lbs or smaller!

1 year ago we were able to dedicate this park in honor of Lauren Hill. 2-22-22, we couldn't have asked for a better day! 🎉

Its amazing to see how far this idea has come and grown from a town board meeting where a man proposed a dog park and a 8th grader proposed a mountain bike trail to teaming up to make it both and working from scratches and drawings on paper to clearing paths and putting up fencing. We can not thank each and every board member past and current for the time they've given to make this come to life and to all the many wonderful community members and businesses who donated to help fund this non-profit to not only create a space to honor Lauren Hill but to also give the sweet, cute, awesome four legged friends of our communities a place to roam around and make friends! 👏

This also means that our 1 year anniversary of the grand opening of the park is just around the corner, Saturday April 22! 🥳Which means its time to plan a celebration! We have decided to make the day a full event this year. From 9am - 12pm we will be having local groups come help do some spring cleaning around the park. You and your friends or family are more than welcome to join. Bring your gloves, rakes, shovels, and more. We want to make the park look its best for this special day and also do some work on the first leg of the mountain bike trail that will be open this spring! After our spring cleaning, the party will begin! From 12pm - 2pm we will have a raffle, food & drinks, on-site nail trimmings for your dogs, and lots more vendors to be announced from now until Aprill 22. So mark your calendar and be on the lookout for updates about our 1 year anniversary party! We look forward to meeting you or seeing you again!

Happy New Year!!! 🎉

2022 was a great year as we were finally able to open the park in honor of #22! We think she definitely looks down on it and watches you, your family & friends, and your dogs really enjoy the park and bring people & communities together! We are looking forward to all the great additions we get to make to the park in this new year! Thank you all for your continued support!
