🔎Nancy Drew is looking for her forever home!🔎
This little girl was found in a ditch in the rain by one of our employees recently. She had a wound on her tail that required partial amputation but is healing well and doing great! Nancy has received her first round of vaccinations and deworming and monthly flea preventative. To inquire about meeting/adopting this precious girl, please call our office 618-943-7516🐾😻

This is little Trooper,
just 2 days old!
She survived birth/
Survived being tightly bound in multiple umbilical cords with her 4 siblings after birth,
Her left rear leg bound so tightly by the cords,
she lost blood supply to her distal limb….
She survived gangrene,
And today survived major surgery to amputate
Her gangrenous limb!

She has compassionate caregivers, who sought
help for her,

We expect full revovery, and expect her to be full of life!!!

She is a special little Trooper!

Intensive care transport, “veterinary style” thru the snow!

Ollie had emergency surgery Friday evening,
and he had to spend the night with me!

Had to pull him thru the backyard to bedroom patio…
Bundled him up in 3 full size comforters!

He is doing great! He is very good patient and house guest!

My best friend and “adopted 2nd mother”
Passed away suddenly on Thursday.

Barbara Ann was a registered nurse, from Nashville
Tennessee.

She had a fantastic life, and shared much of it with me over the years,
from tending to Elvis Presleys mother
as a young nurse in Memphis Tennessee,
to off handedly explaining how this ginormous silver
serving tray she had, was a wedding gift from Pat
Boone…..

After a divorce, and losing a close friend to cancer,
and Being abit “burned out” with nursing, she was at another crossroads in life, and a friend, knowing her compassion for animals, suggested she become an animal nurse. She applied at my hospital looking for
part time or full time work, showed up in a late model
Cadillac in 1996, and I was concerned about
“her age”, (she was, at that time, way younger than I am today!).

She worked with us for years, after retirement
she continued helping me with after hours emergencies, we called her the “ night nurse”.

Then as she approached her 80’s she would answer
emergency calls after hours and console distraught pet owners.

I called my office on her last day, to tell them I had to go be with Barb at the hospital, she was in icu, our emergency line had not been switched back to the hospital, and I was shocked when she answered the phone, (she always wanted her cell phone close at hand)
“Lawrence County Animal Hospital, how may I help you?”

She will be forever missed….God Bless you Barbara Ann on a wonderful life you shared with all!

Morgan pond has been employed at LCAH since July as a veterinarian assistant and client service representative. Morgan is a compassionate veterinary caregiver, has a kind and gentle demeanor, and is an intelligent and quick learner. She has proven to be a great fit here at LCAH and is loved by our entire staff veterinary team and special team members. (Baby the cat and William the goat)
In Sept of this year, her partner was involved in a terrible car accident. Gavyn was severely injured and life lined to Evansville. He sustained a broken back and the vehicle was totaled. Their family dog Russer was unharmed- he was found curled up in the rear window, shaken but safe. Gavyn's medical recovery has been nothing short of miraculous and in hopes to return to work soon.
Morgan has had to take a lot of family leave time to help Gavyn with his recovery; and friends and family have helped provide transportation.
We are sponsoring a fundraiser and raffle to help with their many expenses, especially to help in purchasing a used, reliable vehicle of which they are in dire need.
Our raffle is for a holiday piecaken (value $100)
