Good morning PPMG family! I recently posted that Paula was out of commission until further notice. She has since purchased her own grooming van and is now independent. She IS working her schedule as well as working to get all missed appointments caught up.
Going forward, Pampered Pups will be a one-man operation. The most important thing to note is that I am NOT a “groomer”. I am and always have been a bather who specializes in shedding dogs. My client list is made up of German Shepherds, Huskies, Pitbulls, Great Pyrenees, Labs, Boxers, etc. When I started Pampered Pups in 2016, my intention was to be a silent owner who was 100% hands off when it came to grooming. Instead, I got my hands dirty and fell in love with your pets! I now find myself working 5-6 days a week and loving what I do! I love the relationships that I have with my clients, both the four-legged and two -legged ones, and I have no plans to stop.
If you are not a current customer of mine, and you have a shedding dog, please send a message with information about your dog, to include a picture, along with your name, address and phone number. I will do everything I can to take care of your pups.
I will use the following guidelines as a way to estimate a price for your pup, keeping in mind that coat type and condition as well as size and behavior while grooming are the key factors in determining your final price:
$50+
Short haired Chihuahuas and Dachshunds, Rat Terriers and similar breeds
$60-70
Pitbulls, Boxers, German Short-haired Pointers and similar breeds
$70-85
Labs and Golden Retrievers and similar breeds
$75-95
German Shepherds, Belgian Malinois and similar breeds
$80-100
Huskies, Malamutes, Akitas and similar breeds
$100+
Great Pyrenees, Saint Bernard, Bernese Mountains Dogs and similar breeds
Restrictions:
I will not accept dogs over 100 lbs. My process requires me to lift your dog at least once. While the 100 lb benchmark is a guideline, please note that.n 80 lb dog who fights being lifted is very difficult while a 120 lb dog who is confident and allows me to lift it may be exceptions. This will be left to my discretion and is a matter of injury prevention for both myself and for the dog in my care.
If a dog presents as aggressive, I will not groom him/her. In 7+ years, this has only been an issue a handful of times. While I do have muzzles to use when necessary, I will not accept a dog who requires muzzling simply to be handled. I have only two current clients who require muzzles, and only when trimming nails.
I will no longer accept “nail only” clients. For those current clients who are “nails only”, my pricing will remain consistent at $25 for the first dog and $10 for each additional dog per appointment.
**While I am not accepting “full groom” clients such as Poodles, Shih Tzus, etc, I will ALWAYS refer prospective clients to those who were previously part of the PPMG family: Lisa, Krysta, Heather, Amy and Paula are ALL still doing what they do best.
